Sometimes the food is nice but you have to know exactly what you want BEFORE you get to the counter. Staff are unhelpful AND unfriendly and often the products are just more of the same sourdough effect. A nice bakery but very hard to understand the buzz.

Bourke Street Bakery are true artisan bakers. Beautiful breads, pies and pastries - ranging from the very tradidional to the unusual. Ingredients are wholesome and fresh and the selection will make it hard for you to decide what you want to have. Wonderful olive bread, gorgeous harissa and lamb sausage rolls and almond and rhubarb tarts are a standout. The place gets busy, so get in early before they sell out of everything. Love it.

yes it's always long, but it moves, and it is so very worth it. order everything you can see when you get to the counter - and as long as there is a curd tart and a sausage roll in the bags - you're golden!

I don't buy bread anywhere else!

The bread from here is always so fresh and delicious! They also have really good coffee, tarts and sausage rolls.

The food is absolutely sensational. My all time favourite is the pork and fennel sausage rolls. They are to die for. On the flip side, the staff are arrogant and obnoxious. It is just a bakery! Still, we'll be back on our next trip to Sydney.
Oh, the coffee is great too.
