You could be absolutely anywhere in Australia when you're in the middle of this walk. Except for the faint hum of nearby traffic noise, the area is beautifully peaceful & well forested.A must is the circuit walk around the lake which takes about an hour at a leisurely pace. Sit & rest along the edge of the lake & enjoy the serenity. Enjoy the view of the dam wall & sit in one of the many cute gazebos to enjoy a packed lunch. If you have a group of people, there are a number of lovely picnic areas with BBQs & if you don't have your own food, have a bite to eat at the kiosk which serves lovely meals overlooking the lake. This place is heaven a midst a busy city.

Paradise in the middle of Parramatta - a WONDERFUL place to walk your dog - there are 3 trails of varying length - 1.5km and 2.5 km and 4.5km - dogs had a ball so did the humans. Dogs must be on a lead, as there is so much wildlife, great place for dogs to have a swim at the creek crossing. Lake Cafe needs to be updated, however we enjoyed a really great coffee - beautiful reserve for family, friends and doggies.

This is a lovely reserve in suburbia that I didn't know existed until I found it on tripadvisor. There is a central area with parking and a picnic/bbq area, toilets and children playground. There is a little cafe there too. It was very busy on a Sunday with families celebrating birthdays or just having a get together. I would suggest if you want to do that on the weekend, get here early for a table. We did the lake circuit walking track, which was nice, but long, and only just manageable for my 5 year old with a little help. My 7 year old managed it just fine. You wouldn't even know you were still in the suburbs if you couldn't hear traffic noises from the major roads nearby drifting in every now and then

This beautiful spot is an oasis and has been brought back to pristine condition to the point of allowing swimming with lifeguards during the summer months. You can just sit and take in the beautiful outlook with the sounds of birds, tackle the lovely bush track walking trails, set sail in your watercraft or call in at the lovely on site cafe for a coffee and treat. Great place for family reunions, picnics, birthday parties as there lovely grassed area with shelter and bbq's.has something for everyone and is a favorite drop in place during the week for workers.

Lovely park next to the Dam. It is quite peaceful, even though it is only a stones throw from the Cumberland Highway and James Ruse Drive.
You can wander around the lake and under the dam - we saw possums - or feed the ducks. There is a small cafe that serves nice food and ice creams.
The Reserve is popular for children birthday parties. Good facilities are available and all well kept.
