A pleasant way to spend a few hours, this property is a real family home, lived in by the Rouse family over some 190 years, and full of the things which the family kept in it and left for us to experience. We had a great guide, who brought the family to life at the same time as giving us a better idea of the early European history of this part of Australia. The exhibits in the Visitor Centre and views of the surrounding area all add to the experience.

I have been here a few times and it has been excellent. Very well preserved site backed up with knowledgeable guides. They also have a school holidays program where children can collect eggs, pump water and play traditional games from the 19th century. A great day out for young and old
