Walking into this hotel was intimidating! Though our faces must have said it all - we had won a nights accommodation at this lovely hotel. Remember the scene in Pretty Woman (credits to all rights belonging to film) where Julia Roberts' character walks into the hotel with Richard Gere's character putting on the jacket/coat for the first time! WOW.
Immediately the staff (bell hops: I think) were asking if we needed assistance and helping us find our way. The counter lady was a little off putting to start with - but also done her job. This lady had to seek assistance from another lady behind the reception desk who helped us with our booking.
The room was very nice; clean; tidy; fresh smelling even. It was indulgence at its highest.
There was a study table area. which was situated opposite the front door. between the front door and the lounge area was a divider for privacy.
The lounge comfortably seated three chairs, coffee table and tv suite unit.
Toward the back of the suite - there was a full size ensuite style bathroom and massive bedroom which had its own television, and cupboards.
The bed. The most important part of any stay- the bed! OH MY GOSH! If you could pack the mattress in to your suitcase it would been done!
To sleep on that mattress was absolute heaven. Unless we're sick we don't sleep in the middle of a day let alone a trip - but we had an hour to relax before having to get ready to go out and so we decided to watch a movie or part thereof; both of us were woken by the reminder alarm set on our phone so we both knew - no matter where we were that we had to get ready now-. . . it was unexpected and so comfortable.
Laying on this bed it felt like having every arch, nook and crest in your body filled in with a sponge.
And while we were out - our room was re made up for us.
And a lovely note was left for us.
Easy check in (in the situation that we had won this accommodation as a part of a prize) and easier check out .
Again the bell hops were very happy to help us.

We stayed for a 2 night weekend in a standard room with a king bed. The room was a decent size and looked out over Philip street, some city buildings and partially the gardens of the hotel.
The hotel lobby smells beautiful and the chandelliers are gorgeous. The orchid displays are just beautiful.
Check in was a quick and smooth affair. As Accor Advantage Plus members we also received a complimentary box of gourmet chocolates and a free drink for two in the hotel lobby bar which was very enjoyable.
The bathroom has a bath/shower combination, and marble floors. There is a good quality hairdryer and good amenities (Roger & Gallet).
The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in, in ages. I wish I could buy one of those beds. With the heavenly bed and the block out blinds we had a fantastic night's sleep.
The room also had an extensive mini bar selection, bathrobes, flat screen tv with satellite channels as can be expected and coffee making facilities (instant).
The hotel is a 7 minute walk from circular quay and about 15 minutes from the Pitt St Mall shopping area. Centrally located - The Rocks are also about 10 minutes away by foot where there are plenty of restaurants.
The hotel made us feel welcome and the service was very friendly. You are greeted by a courteous bonjour - loved it - as this is a French hotel chain a lot of their staff are French speaking. We felt like valued guests throughout our stay. The only negative is that the carpet in the hallway looked a bit dated, but that is a very minor observation.
I would gladly stay here again.
