Owner description: Escape from the hustle and bustle to a serene, secluded garden—Darling Harbour’s Chinese Garden of Friendship. The walled Chinese Garden respectfully recreates the philosophy and harmony of a traditional Chinese garden in its waterfalls, lakes, exotic plants, pavilions and hidden pathways...once you’ve discovered this secret garden, you’ll never want to leave!

Very beautiful gardens with a tranquil atmosphere and lots of beautiful carp. Try and visit on a weekday as sunday was a very busy day, some people were quite noisy and didnt bother to keep their voices down. The noise from the road behind is also quite noticeable nearer the back. However, very pretty gardens, like a hidden paradise - would recommend

This place has to be seen to be believed. I could not believe that hidden amongst this huge city, was something so peaceful, beautiful and tranquil. Every area felt so special and calming and you really do leave feeling a huge sense of tranquillity.

Wish I could design a garden like this. It's surrounded by the city and some very busy construction sites but it's so peaceful. We walked around for an hour looking at the landscaping, lizards and turtles. Lots of places to sit and contemplate water and rocks just a few yards from the hectic Darling Harbour.

We also got the lunch package which included a tasty sandwich, dessert and a pot of tea of your choice. I had China lychee tea which was delicious.

What a gem in the heart of the city! It was lovely to walk through this well maintained, well designed garden! Outside, the hustle and bustle of Sydney could not be heard, it was so peaceful! A must!
