We walked through a vibrant pub on a Saturday night to the Restaurant upstairs which was like a quiet oasis. The staff were efficient, friendly, informative and we had a lovely meal with nice wine and beer. The rib eye was massive, lamb shanks cooked to perfection and a nice tasty fish curry - worth a visit!

Very tasty beer, a good selection and friendly, knowledgable bar man. Good atmosphere on a busy weekend evening. History evident around the pub, yet nice interior with plenty of seating. Short stroll from the harbour/rocks area - definitely worth a visit.

The old Lord Nelson was once a run down whalfies haught, but was significantly gentrified in the last few decades. It is now a micro-brewery of renowned. Beers, such as the Victory and Trafalgar are good, as is the 3 Sheets pale ale and Porter.
Meals are ok. Good atmosphere, particularly on a cold winter day...

What a fantastic place to stay and eat! Close to everything for the tourist, lovely rooms, amazing food and amazing beers. Walking distance from the bridge, the harbour, the markets and so many other pubs and places to eat! Also close to wax museum, aquarium etc.

The historic Lord Nelson pub, brewery and restaurant has ~7 rooms on the top two floors. Offering clean and comfortable accommodations and a fantastic location just steps from all the main sights in the Rocks, Circular Quay etc..

Booking is old school - email them or call.
Rooms have a few issues - no free wifi (only a 20 min low MB service you register for otherwise you pay), no water bottles, very poor TV set up in one of our rooms (304) so you essentially couldn't see it, and breakfast is far too basic - 3 cereals, a plain yogurt and toast offered included. You can pay to have hot food. Same set up every day. Quite a bit of street noise when the pub closes. Four flights of stairs, no lift. Pillows were cheap foam type.

However, it does not have the generic impersonal feel of most hotels. If you like a bit of charm with a vibrant brewery/bar downstairs that served great food and drinks, then this place is for you. If they mounted flat screens to the walls in the bedrooms so you could watch TV in bed, added free wi-fi, had better pillows and improved the breakfast this place would be much better.

Room Tip: 4th floor is further away from bar noise (won't hear it)
