It is a tradition when you are in Sydney to go out onto the harbour. There are some really reasonable trips but one of the cheapest and most beautiful is to catch the ferry to Manly from Circular Quay. You go out past the Sydney Opera House on your right, the Sydney Harbour Bridge to your left (known as "The Coat-hanger" to the locals). You sail past little islands and Rose Bay almost to the Heads of the Harbour but turn left into Manly. You get an ice-cream in Manly and catch the ferry back. A reasonable and fantastic Sydney experience.
