Great to mull around and muse and just relax. Lots to see and do.... walk from the harbour to mcquarry's chair is a beautiful walk which goes past the botanic garden too.

Obviously touristy but iconic Sydney with the opera house, harbour bridge, and aborigines playing music, this is were you can catch ferries to manly, the zoo, or even for a trip to north sydney

I spent a day starting at the Botanical Gardens, walked to the Rocks, then caught a ferry to Darling Harbour visiting and enjoying everything in between. Sydney Harbour has much to offer and has to be high up there as one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. The Botanical Gardens, the Opera House, the bars with their awesome views of the Harbour bridge and any liner that might be passing through, the busy pace of the ferrys, the Contemporary Art Gallery (which is free to visit for most exhibitions), the International Passenger Terminal for ships, the history of The Rocks, all add up to be a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a day! I sat at the Opera House bar, in the sun with a beer and was amazed at the sparkling water, the serenity of the harbour that's right in the middle of a city! After enjoying all this I caught a ferry to Darling Harbour and had a great time exploring this beautiful area (especially the Lindt Cafe!!!!). We Australians are truly blessed to have this beauty as ours!

Ferries go from Circular Quay, where the trains and buses also arrive and you can see Ocean liners as well .Take a ferry to Manly, the Taronga Zoo, or just cruise up the Parramatta River.Great photos of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge as well.
