Location was good- 5 minutes walk from the convention centre where I was attending a conference. Average other than that; room was very old and shabby. Service was mixed. Breakfast buffet was solid but not great. Recommended for business travellers on a budget.

Hotel walls were dark brown with bright red doors, looked like an institution. Room small and lacked glamour with shabby stained blinds at the window. We stayed 2 nights and on the morning of our departure we encountered a big cockroach running around the floor and through our clothes that we were trying to pack, really upsetting and not what we expected. Manager pointed out that we were on the corner of the top floor and seemed a bit bemused at our upset. Eventually he gave us a free breakfast and said we could keep room for rest of day.
I couldnt get my clothes out of there fast enough!!!
Darling harbour is a fab place but not the Ibis!

Dear darcyflorrie,

Thankyou for taking the time to write this review. We are very appreciative of your feedback as it allows us to continually review and improve our service and facilities.

I was most concerned to hear of your comments regarding your recent stay at Ibis Darling Harbour and the inconveniences you experienced. Please accept my sincerest apologies that the hotel did not meet your expectations. Please accept my profuse apologies in relation to the cockroach which impacted upon your overall experience.

The Ibis is a 3.5 star hotel which is well known for its convenience, friendly service and value for money. Our hotel is the only 3.5 star hotel offering views across Darling Harbour and the city skyline at a budgeted cost. Our guest rooms are designed for functional ease and comfort. Please accept our profuce apologies about the blinds in your room. In future, please advise us during your stay so we could have fixed it and/or relocated you to another room. This issue has been raised with the relevant departments and will be reviewed.

If the Ibis brand, which caters for travellers who will not stay in their room for long periods of time and will explore the area they are visiting, does not meet your need or expectations, could I invite you to stay at Novotel Darling Harbour during your next stay. The Novotel is a 4.5 star hotel which will provide you with a more luxurious stay if that is what you are after.

Please accept my apologies if you feel your feedback was not taken seriously. It was certainly not our intention to make you feel this way. Our employees are very passionate about the standard of customer service we pride ourselves in delivering.

Although the experience was very unfortunate, we hope you were able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast at iBistro.

Darcyflorrie, we welcome the opportunity for you to contact the hotel directly on +61 2 9288 7116 or h1181-sl@accor.com to discuss your feedback further. Darcyflorrie, whilst I can not turn back the clock on your experience, we certainly value your patronage and would love to welcome you back when you are next travelling to Sydney so that we may have an opportunity to provide the service and standard in which pride ourselves and one would expect from Novotel.

Regards,

Klaus Kinateder
General Manager
