We took an airport shuttle into Sydney, which dropped us at the corner of Pitt and Goulborn as the driver pointed out the Ibis. I was surprised to find a narrow doorway flanked by windows tucked into a space between some Bistro and a Hotel by the Hour (parents of young children, brace yourselves for questions. All others, don't wander into the adjacent doorway accidentally!) Inside the miniscule lobby, though, the staff checked us in efficiently. The room itself -- and I don't mind tiny rooms -- was quite the very tiniest I had ever seen. My grandson simply draped all his clothes across the back of the single chair provided-- for a week! The under-two-foot wide closet, already encumbered with the ironing board and iron in a rack, could not hold more than a half-dozen garments. TV high on a wall (no floor space). Luggage shelf and kettle space competed so as to take turns if one wanted coffee. Housekeeping never left the same supplies two days in a row; one day we got one towel and an extra two pillowcases draped over the clothes on the chair.
Still, a travel adventure! The staff was polite and helpful for the most part. And the location, as said, was excellent: bus and monorail connections very nearby. Three stars because of the rate and location, otherwise one - two. (and I'm not a fussy traveler!)
