A friend and I were backpacking Australia and wanted to stay somewhere with a view of the Opera House. Great view of Sydney Harbor (if you're willing to pay around 300+ USD) and modern rooms made this an enjoyable leg of our trip. My friend stated the breakfast buffet was the best he's ever had, and for the allotted money I would have to agree. I would consider this more of a family oriented hotel but is walking distance to everything. I recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel for a week after our cruise. It is very central to a lot of sightseeing and attractions at Circular Quay. The rooms were very clean and very spacious. We had the breakfast included with our room rate and I would recommend for everyone to do this. The cost of breakfast was $38.00 per person. Good breakfast selection. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful from the front desk to the concierge to the valet parking. Signed up for the reward program, it's free and I was able to get free internet while at the hotel. The hotel is not cheap but it is worth the money spent. The ferries were within walking distance from the hotel about (5 mins walking) and if you buy a pass it allows you to use the buses, trains, and ferry to access all of the attractions. Highly recommend staying in the Circular Quay area. Lots of restaurants and some shopping. Took a city bus tour, highly recommend it, you can hop on and hop off throughout the city best way to see the sights.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the opera house view. It's spectacular. Higher floors have a view of the cit...

I travel to AU for business and find the Marriott Sydney Harbour hotel to work very well for my business requirements, and for my wife's expeditions around the city while I work. Hotel is 20 minutes to the airport, so access is quick - especially during traffic, which can be daunting. Out the door and take a right and you are steps away from shops, Starbucks, Ferry System (Bondi Beach, Zoo, Darling Harbor, etc.), Opera House and Bridge. Take a left, and you are 1/2 mile to shopping at Malls and high end stores. Hotel may be a few dollars more, yet I never waited more than 2 minutes for a taxi as the hotel has them lined up outside and when you want to take in the sites - there is no better location. Staff is VERY friendly and rooms are comfortable with down pillow top beds. Gym needs to be updated, yet it has two levels and can accommodate your workout.

If convenience is part of your travel expectations, I recommend you consider the Marriott.

Room Tip: Ask about upgrades and if you are staying more than one night...the hotel is helpful to provide bett...

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now for business, but have stayed longer on some of my trips for pleasure. The location is great for visitors, being very close to train, bus and ferry. Easy walk to city shopping, the rocks, circular quay, botanic gardens, and is also a nice walk to Darling Harbour... Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House are also both at your doorstep here. I will say, that i have stayed in better Marriotts around the world, as this one is getting quite old, but rooms are still at a high standard and are very comfortable and spacious. I have always found the hotel staff to be very helpful. Great 24 hr gym as well (there is a pool but have never used it). Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for a week after our Princess Cruise and it was absolutely in the best location possible for touring Sydney and the attractions close to and from Circular Quay. The front desk staff, concierge, and doormen were quite possibly some of the nicest, efficient, and most friendly people we met on our 3 week stay in Australia. They were all very welcoming despite what was obviously a very busy week.
Lovely from top to bottom!

Room Tip: If you can afford or are upgraded to an opera house view then fine, otherwise, take what is best pri...
