“Nice City Hotel”

i stayed at the Vibe on my Honeymoon in Sydney in March 2012, and it was a nice hotel. Bed was pretty good, clean, and room service food was also pretty good. I only have a few things for would be visitors to the Vibe.One the hotel is nice, but it looks like they took an old hotel and just updated it, so its not a new place. That being said the walls are pretty thin, so some times you can hear the toilet flush, and the tv in the other room. Lucky for us, we had a corner room so it was pretty quiet. also the room could use one extra chair or couch. we only one chair, and two would have been nice. Also room service got our order wrong the first time, but they fixed really fast and gave it to us for free. What is the nice is, the subway station is one block (museum stop) over so its really close...and your in china town, so there are alot of food options around. All around a nice hotel. Oh and the computers downstairs are $2 for 10 mins...or you can get it in your room for a fee.

Thank you for your feedback. Vibe Hotel Sydney is not a new hotel and we don’t advertise that we are anywhere.
The hotel was taken over by Toga in 2005 and we have refurbished the hotel on an ongoing basis ever since.
We don’t want to give anyone the impression that the building is new as it is in fact more than a 100 years old. Our design of the rooms is fresh and colourful and we are different from other hotels in Sydney that is for sure.
I will most certainly check up on the issues you have raised and get them fixed today. I would like to thank you for your feedback as we learn from our guests findings all the time.

We stated in the Vibe on a trip from UK, this was the poorest hotel of all the places we stayed, it gives the impression of a once grand hotel that has been "tarted up" in an attempt to look young and trendy, it does not work!
My biggest gripe is the lack of attention to detail and the total lack of service, this hotel is clearly trying to operate on a shoestring.
You can do better in Sydney for about the same money, don't be tempted by the discounts

We are sorry to hear that the hotel did not live up to your expectations. Vibe Hotel Sydney has been a hotel for many years and we are constantly improving the product as other hotels in the city. We are not 5 star and we are not trying to be something we are not. We believe that the product we sell is consistent of a 4 star product and that our rooms are large and airy in comparison to other hotels in the city in the same category.
We are most certainly trying our very best to look after every guest and I am sad to see that you think we are lacking attention to detail as they team is working hard to service all our wonderful guests and their requests.
Vibe Hotel Sydney values the feedback from their guests and the more detailed it is the more we can learn- both good and bad.
I hope we can deliver a better experience in the future should you return.

Very pleased to discover this hotel after some real hit and miss Sydney hotel experiences in the past. We tend to stay most nights in a hotel of this price range then the final night in a luxury hotel, but would have been more than happy to stay here for the full trip.

The rooms are modern and clean (and not fluro like the other areas!) and we were pleased to qualify for a free night due to our multi night booking. The staff were very friendly - check in was welcoming and the cleaning staff gave us extra toiletries which was a nice touch. An easy walk to main amenities, including the Central Station. The bathroom was very good and they had lovely toiletries which makes it a bit more special. Breakfast was as good as any I have had anywhere else but we didn't have it more than once as other places are so close.

The only blips for us was that there seemed to be a lot of non hotel guests hanging around the lobby lounge which was odd and at times a little unnerving and when we booked the hold that was on the credit card took two weeks to come off even though we paid for the room when we left. This was frustrating as, being visitors from New Zealand, we could have used more funds to spend on activities/shopping in Sydney.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Vibe Hotel Sydney. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel and that you found the rooms to be modern, clean and central.
There are always a lot of people in our lobby as we also have 5 conference rooms upstairs and the front entrance is the point of entry for all.
It does get crowded at times, but there is no need to fear anything as they are all our guests within the hotel.
I am sorry to hear it took so long for the pre-authorization to be released. I will speak to the team so they pay more attention to this as it should not ever take that long.
Once again thank you for staying with us, we hope to see you again in the near future.

Used to stay in this hotel back in 2005 - was a great hotel back then. I don't think a single thing has been done to the hotel since then - the corridors stank of wet carpet, the room was tired with frayed carpet, old doona cover, the plumbing for the toilet made loud clanking and banging noises when the toilet was flushed, and they demanded a $200 credit card bond on check in (i've never heard of this amount being required before).

The staff were friendly and professional, but overall the hotel was crap and I won't be staying again - definitely not worth $200 per night!!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Vibe Hotel Sydney.
Vibe Hotel has undergone areas of refurbishment since the opening in 2005, but this does not include carpets. They will be changed in 2012 as part of our refurbishment program.
The pool area is among areas, that has been refurbished and we will be doing further work to the gym and the rooms as well.
The Doona covers should all be new as they were purchased so I shall check up on that for you. I have also investigated your comments about the toilet and we have fixed the plumbing in the room now.
When you check in we don't ask for a bond, we inform you that we will make a pre-authorization of $ 200.00. This is general practice in the hotel business, and this is done to cover your incidentals. We do release this upon check out. Things do change in 7 years and we hope we can improve so you will come back for another visit in the future.

We just discovered the Vibe Hotel at 111 Goulbourne St, Its so close to Chinatown and World Square. A short walk from Centeral Station it is perfectly located for that city getaway! The rooms are a good size, big comfortable king bed with a mini fridge and coffee making gear, LCD TV, Foxtel, Broadband etc. The price was quite reasonable at $139 for a 4 Star hotel in a centeral location. On the roof there is a small, well equipped Gym and a great swimming pool that gets sun all day! The only downside was the breakfast was a bit bland but fresh and OK for a night or two. The desk staff were helpful and housekeeping staff were great. All in all a good place to stay!

Room Tip: As the windows are double glazed all seem quiet.

I am delighted to hear that you though our rooms were large and that the bed was comfortable.
I will raise your concern with the breakfast buffet as this should be better.
We do also offer a la carte breakfast all day long in the cafe if this is more suitable for you next time you are in town.
The pool on the roof has recently undertaken a make bit of a makeover and we are still improving that area with new and funky furniture.
I will share your great comments about the team with them as they work hard to improve in all areas all the time.
