Owner description: A cliff top coastal walk, the Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The walk features stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The beaches and parks offer a place to rest, swim or a chance to eat at one of the cafes, hotels, restaurants or takeaways. All beaches offer picnic shelters, electric barbecues, play areas, kiosks, toilets and change-rooms. The walk is not difficult, there are medium gradient paths and several staircases with occasional seating. It takes about two hours to complete the Bondi to Coogee Beach section of the walk and another hour and a half if you choose to continue to Maroubra.

“Great way to spend a day”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

This was a great way to spend half a day.

We were staying with friends and so we drove to Coogee, which was close to their house, and walked to Bondi.

It's a spectacular coastline but what makes it even better is the addition of the wooden stairs and walkways. These are literally clinging to the cliff side and create a path where a natural one is not possible. They are impressive and the need to up each hill and back down to each beach means there are several of them on the route. The views on this walk are amazing and it's a good way to blow out the cobwebs if you have been sat on a plane for 24 hours, which is why we did this on our first day.

There is very little shelter on the route, so if it is a hot day, you will need sun cream and hats as it will get very hot up there. However, there are plenty of drinking water taps on the way so you are able to fill up a bottle if you need to, and there's also a couple of public conveniences on the way too.

When you arrive at Bondi it's possible to just get the bus back into town if you don't want to walk back. There's a sports centre on the way into Bondi if you are coming from Coogee and the cafe upstairs gives you good views of Bondi Beach. It's a good place to turn around and head back if you are walking back to Coogee.

“A Great Walk Along the Cliffs”
Reviewed 12 June 2012

Winding alongside the sea front, the pathway is broad and the view is spectacular. It starts from teh Bopndi end near the icebergs Club and restuarant, and from there you can't go wrong. Lots of local people use this pathway as a means of exercise, so you see people, usually young people and sometimes a movie star or celebrity (if you turn your gaze from the sea). The walk is especially recommended on a fine morning, and when "Sculptures by teh Sea" is showing (once a year), with the intrugiing sculptures laid out beside the pathway. It wends along, up and down past the lovely narrow beach at Tamarara. Then along to Bronte where the families come to picnic..There is a classic stone pool beside teh sea which laps into it, if you care to swim. Most people stop here, and stop for coffee at teh cafes near teh beach, or just turn around and walk back. However, if you're feeling fit you can go on along the roadside and walk to Coogee Beach. A lovely walk.

This is a great walk with fabulous views - some steep steps but well worth it - I've done this walk twice now and if you've not done it then I would heartily recommend it

“Beautiful hike”
Reviewed 11 June 2012

This was a great way to spend an afternoon. The cliffs and beaches are stunning, and the walk itself is invigorating. Grab lunch and a pint in Coogee, and bring the family. Plenty of places along the way for kids to play and explore.
