This was a great way to spend half a day.
We were staying with friends and so we drove to Coogee, which was close to their house, and walked to Bondi.
It's a spectacular coastline but what makes it even better is the addition of the wooden stairs and walkways. These are literally clinging to the cliff side and create a path where a natural one is not possible. They are impressive and the need to up each hill and back down to each beach means there are several of them on the route. The views on this walk are amazing and it's a good way to blow out the cobwebs if you have been sat on a plane for 24 hours, which is why we did this on our first day.
There is very little shelter on the route, so if it is a hot day, you will need sun cream and hats as it will get very hot up there. However, there are plenty of drinking water taps on the way so you are able to fill up a bottle if you need to, and there's also a couple of public conveniences on the way too.
When you arrive at Bondi it's possible to just get the bus back into town if you don't want to walk back. There's a sports centre on the way into Bondi if you are coming from Coogee and the cafe upstairs gives you good views of Bondi Beach. It's a good place to turn around and head back if you are walking back to Coogee.
