Neighbourhood: Central Business District
Description: A modern European-style bistro, Ash St. Cellar and wine bar is intimately tucked away behind ivy. Classic café chairs, warm wooden décor and Parisian 'plein aire' seating creates an ideal hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Sydney's CBD. Head chef Zac Ahrens creates stylish European tapas with French, Italian and Spanish influences to compliment the fabulous array of wines. The charcuterie starters are a favourite, but leave room the tart of the day. Franck Moreau, Merivale's award-winning Master Sommelier, presides over a world-class wine list that doesn't disappoint. Now also open for breakfast daily from 8.30am weekdays.

Main service period is 5 - 7:30 pm for trendies to wind down but they are still networking. Good range of spirits/cocktails/beer & wine. Usual would be two tapas + salad to share for two. If you're hungry add bread. Service is prompt and wait staff's attention is easy to gain. Table turnover is about 1/2 to 3/4 hour unless a business group 'network love-in". Site down at 5:30 for a show at the Sydney Recital Centre at about 7:00. Reasonable cost with a coctail & a wine about $95 for two. I will return from out of town for a nice bite before a concert nearby.

This wine bar/tapas style restaurant is tucked away in a lane way at Angel Place so it’s relatively quiet for the centre of the city and although it was windy on the street, out outside table was not. The view of people walking by also keeps it interesting. The food was good and fairly fast although it was nearly full. Service was casual but perfect for the location. The sardines were our standout dish.

We went for a special dinner and wasn’t disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and considerate. They looked after us and also made a special effort for our young daughter. Thank you and we will definitely return.

Had a quick breakfast and sat outside. It was raining so they extended the awnings which was really great.

Service was quick and the banana bread was amazing. So delicious (and my work colleague had the croissant which was tasty)

This is always a great little spot, the lane is a hive of activity and great little restaurants and coffee shops.
