Garrison Church lacked the decoration of some other church. The simple design was rich with arched windows and decorated turrets, but in a simple, understated way. Most notable was the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background. With a wedding taking place, I couldn’t go inside, but the Garrison Church seems to be a nice highlight to the Millers Point area.

The Holy Trinity Anglican Church is more commonly referred to as the Garrison Church which reflect that it was once used as a church of worship for the many regiments that worshipped there.

Made of beautiful sandstone blocks and polished wood interior, the Church has lovely stained glass windows which catch the light beautifully.

There's various military memorabilia in the Church too.

The Church is perhaps a 10-15 min walk from Circular Quay but well worth a visit and from there, after visiting the Church, walk up to the Observatory or perhaps walk down Lower Fort Street, under the Harbour Bridge and back to Circular Quay.

Officially named the Holy Trinity Church, this building gets its current moniker because it was the colony's first military church. We visited the interior at the end of our Rocks Discovery tour. There is a small museum/exhibit in the entryway displaying early Australian military and historical items, along with numerous plaques on the left (West) wall dedicated to various Australian military groups. The latter (coupled with the historical importance of the building) was worth a visit for myself, although others may find minimal return from a trip here.

Worth a visit for those with the interest; like Cadman's cottage this structure is best viewed in the context of the surrounding area.
