I was in Sydney overnight following a conference and my Sydney based son, suggested a meal at Spice Temple. I had eaten at Spice Temple in Melbourne so it seemed a good choice. Oh my goodness, my taste buds are still tingling...the food was delicious. It was fresh, spicy and so very tasty. I enjoyed the pairing of ingredients which was so original but worked so well. My favourites were the salt and pepper tofu and the chicken wings...just be careful of the dried chilli under the wings :)
The servings were quite generous, which is not always the case these days.
My 'dog' cocktail was also excellent; a little sour, which is the way I like cocktails.
Congrats to the staff who were attentive and helpful with food choices.
I cant wait to go back, although I may take a torch next time...the lights are very dim!

Dinner with a group of friends on Saturday night for birthday celebrations. Always good for their cocktails but even after quite a few years now, the food does not disappoint. Excellent appetisers, lamb pancakes, pork/fennel dumplings, prawn wontons. Complimentary pickled cabbage to keep the heat in check. A favourite crispy pork salad; steamed flathead, and beef with pepper. Delicious. Can't end the evening without the giant snickers inspired peanut/chocolate parfait. Not to mention a great wine list and excellent service!

We have been to this restaurant many times and it never lets us down. The food is excellent with some great choices for people who like it hot and spicy. Excellent wine list with some good wines available by the glass. Excellent background music and dimmed lights makes even a busy room feel private and intimate. Recommended.

This is a place that will surprise you. The front entrance is hidden and the stairs down give no hint of the gastronomy joys awaiting you. The staff are elegant and attentive, the mood and ambience something like a modern day speakeasy with low lighting. The Asian flavours abound and unmistakeable and leave your taste buds literally tingling. But watch out - if the item on the menu says hot it will be HOT and if it says mouth numbing, they're not joking. Don't be macho. You don't need to blow your taste buds out of the water to enjoy their mazing food. That said, mind numbing doesn't mean painful it means your lips/mouth will feel numbed and tingle in a very pleasant and most unexpected way.I thought that would lead me to sear my lips but this was not the case at all. Their sake as very good as were their wines. I'm not a tofu fan but I tried their sale & pepper crumbed tofu and it was delicious as was their spanner crabs with noodles and their crispy pork salad.

Difficult to find the front door. Too dark inside. Other customers are too close. Staff weren't as good as those at the original Rockpool at The Rocks. We had the $99 banquet and note that there is a duck dish for entree and another duck dish for mains. Couldn't they pick another animal?
