Great hidden cafe in Farrer!
Fox and Bow has a fantastic atmosphere and inviting, friendly staff who all have warm smiles, making you feel comfortable. The morning bun I had along with late was just what I needed for an afternoon meal! I love coming to Fox and Bow knowing each time I return I’ll get the same quality and hospitality.

Just bought a toasted Reuben sandwich from the F&B takeaway shop at Red Hill shops, located next to the post office.
Arrived home to open up a sandwich whose paper wrapping was melted into the bread on both sides and unable to be peeled away.
Obviously had been in the sandwich press with the paper on and I find it hard to believe the salesperson would not have seen this prior to handing it over. After toasting he put it in the microwave, which made me a little suspicious but only confirms for me that he was aware of the issue.
Absolutely not good enough and I won’t be back.

Really sorry about that. Come down and we’ll refund your money and make you a new one. We’re trying to work out the best way to get these sandwiches as efficiently as possible to you. Clearly that wasn’t the right way. But we’re human and if you just tell us then of course we feel terrible about that and want to rectify for you. If all everyone just does is out shameful reviews out on public domains, how do we get the chance to repair what’s happened. Imagine if that was the way all issues in life were dealt with. Imagine if that’s what we tell our children to do. “Had a bad experience with anything? Publicly shame them”. That’s really sad. End of the day we’re sorry. We’re trying hard to create a good product, all in house, fresh, and fast. We made a mistake. We’ll fix it. Thanks for alerting us to the issue. We hadn’t been made aware of this before. Our bad.

Came in on a Sunday, it was very busy but the service was still efficient and friendly.
The food was delicious, I couldn’t get enough, and all the staff were friendly and polite.
The owner, Alex, seems like a great bloke, he was very chatty and treated everyone with the utmost respect.

Overall, I loved the atmosphere and experience!

Definitely coming back!

My family (2 kids under 4, my husband and myself) went to fox and how because we had their food once a couple of months and loved it. However, on our second visit, we were treated like garbage by the owner. We had come first ti the busy cafe before a rude and aggressive and privileged couple walked right past us- and told one of the servers they want a table. But we were treated very well by a non Australian male staff member and took our name down and told us we would be next. Ok great. We waited a while and a table of four e came avaislble. That previous couple aggressively took the table (a young white couple who gave us looks as if they deserved it). Our kids were crying cos they wrrr hungry. And the male server was very polite and tried to apologise. But another member of staff told him the couple should get the table. Then when we finally got a table and that female staff member came to us witb our coffee I asked her what motivated her to give the table to people who came before us because now the kids were crying from hunger (she told us the food be awhile). And she had gone and told the owner Alex that I yelled at her and kept crying. So the owner Alex marched marched at us and demanded we answer why we made his staff member cry. He didn’t even gen ask what happened. Told us we should be ashamed to have made his staff cry and so much more bs. He then told us will give you a refund and leave. Sooo rude. Both our kids were crying as wanting food and there this owner telling us fine go if you complain. Then he gives our kids BURNT pancakes (pics will be attached). Omg the poor kids. They were saying how hungry but can’t eat them cos bitter (keep in mind our kids 2 and 4). The staff member who was nice to us apologised profusely while the drama queen staff member just kept on being herself and working while my kids starved.

The owner kept blaming me and my family cos his staff and arrogant customers took our table. And the most bizzare part is he went over to the aggressive customers and treated them soo nicely. The male staff member who was very nice and reasonable and just was left alone too. He apologised how we were treated. But Alex even said he doesn’t care about theee rgieww cos he has his people visiting the cafe and he doesn’t need us. He said we would be doing him a service if we didn’t visit. My god the attitude of his was unbelievable. I really think he has a problem after reading similar reviews of his attitude o Facebook. The food may be good but I will never support anything by him. He is full of arrogance and thinks he is hrewt. Can you imagine working for him? No one can probably say anything negative. He probably lets them go. He was so dismissive. He made our girls starve, gave burnt pancakes and wronged us for asking what went wrong.

I really wish more people would tell how bad this man is. He is a terrible terrible human.

After being seated at 4 seater table for 10minutes witch consisted of myself and 2 young children and my order placed, I was told to move to a 2 tiny seater table with extra chair. I said I didn’t want to move and told I had to. Apparently staff had not reserved a table for a booking.
I did not leave as kids hungry. I posted this review about 6 weeks ago and can’t find it anywhere. I was also replied to by owner on trip advisor to email him at Fox and Bow as he would like to keep me as a repeat customer. I did this and have heard nothing in reply since.
There are plenty of good cafes in Canberra, so avoid this one.
