“Best place to be on Curacao. Cozy, warm and so nice view”
Reviewed 27 April 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We loved to be there, hurry up every evening to have our sundown Mojito on the beautyful terrace. Then to grill some fish and sleep with the sound of the waves under the bedroom.
Take a bath before Breakfast and then visit one of the beautyful beaches nearby. We loved it and maybe we return some day

“Truly special”

Seaside villa is perched in a stunning setting and instills a genuine sense of place. The sound of waves crashing; the wildlife--birds, iguanas, hermit crabs, pelicans; the omnipresent sea breeze; the constant changing view as ships pass and the sun sets. My favorite memories of Curacao are relaxing around the outdoor table enjoying evening meals in the evening twilight. Our children, ages 4 and 7, loved Seaside villa as did my parents. It was a treat to walk a few steps down the road to a beach so often deserted that it felt private, to fish from the deck, and to fall asleep to the sound of waves at night. And the location is near the supermarket, wild flamingos, and convenient to explore both the western beaches and Punda/Willemstad. This kind of experience is exactly how and why we enjoy travel.

Be prepared for an experience that is lovely but not resort-sterile. This is a traditional Caribbean home open to the sea with no window screens; we found it necessary to use mosquito repellent from time to time. The Internet could be capricious. There's not much of note within walking distance in the neighborhood, which is a little rough around the edges in spots. And while furnishings and the like are attractive and comfortable, they are not fancy.

This is a special place and we very much hope to return!

We LOVED this place. If you are looking for a beautiful view, plenty of room and a location central to everything Curacao has to offer, this place is for you! We were greeted by the house staff and welcomed warmly. The home had plenty of open doors and huge windows which made for a refreshing breeze throughout the day and night.

The inside of the home was dated; however, if you spend time inside your crazy. The true living is outdoors with a spectacular view of Snake Bay right from the private deck. We enjoyed each morning and evening watching as the day came to life and the sun slowly set. Snorkeling and diving right from the home was a huge bonus as we had both certified divers and landlubbers who liked to snorkel in our group. This accommodated both perfectly with plenty of sea life and coral reefs for the snorkelers and dives up to 115 ft within them same area.

Opportunities for relaxation were abundant with the deck over hanging the water and several other quiet pockets within the backyard courtyard. A full kitchen allowed us to make some home cooked meal with local ingredients and laundry/washing/drying facilities allowed us to pack light.

We also ventured out to visit locals at the bar/snack shop down the street and were welcomed and well received. Everyone was very nice.

The only negatives might be that for Curacao in general, there seems to be a trash problem. Especially the road leading to the vacation rental and along the water nearby; however, once inside the property it all disappeared and spectacular views and beauty were the only thing left to see.

I would highly recommend these place for travelers that are not high maintenance or requiring a luxury rental.

“AMAZING ON THE WATER VACATION HOME”
Reviewed 23 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

This home was amazing. Every morning we woke up and snorkeled in our backyard. Like the description says, the real living space is outside. We only were inside when it was time to sleep. We enjoyed that this home was not in the tourist center and was more a slow pace residential neighborhood. We made good friends with many of the locals in town. I highly recommend this house if you want the real Curacao experience.

“Fabulous setting - feels like heaven.....”

We have been here all month, with family and friends joining us for shorter stays. The ONLY criticism we have is that we cannot enjoy the evenings because of the mosquitos. We would love to be able to sit out after dusk but only did it the once and were eaten alive. Sadly with no fly screens (Caribbean style) the only alternative is to come inside and shut up, which is far too hot for us with no air conditioning in the lounge. The owner very kindly has supplied fans but you do really need to be elsewhere in the evenings - like some people plan to - if you are subjected to mosquito bites. We would advise you to bring beach shoes as Curacao means Coral Island, and surprisingly they are not for sale on every street corner. It is really foolhardy to go into the water without protecting your feet. With the steps down into the water, two doors along from a small beach, and the outside facilities we believe that you could not do better! There appears to be very few such properties on the island. The resident pet (outside fortunately!) iguana and all the tropical birds have been a good source of entertainment and photographic fun - if you are lucky enough to stay here, they all love banana, lettuce and fries (many a polystyrene box has been brought home from a restaurant!)
The villa is very well equipped. Be careful with your settings on electrical equipment brought from home as the villa has both US style 110 volt outlets and European 230 volt round pin ones. They are not marked but obviously very different. Not different enough for one of our guests not to burn out her hairdryer though! We will be sad to leave next week as this place has soul and you will love it as we do I am sure. As the sign on the wall says ' Relax - it doesn't get much better than this!'
