The accommodation is very comfortable, spacious and the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Some staff is very nice, others however are quite rude and militantly remind you of the price of every aspect of your stay. In addition, the internet didn't work. Free wifi was supposed to be included in the room price but the internet didn't really work and it's only free for one device. So they'll happily charge you for the extra devices to be online while the connection is weak and sporadic at best.
The beach is beautiful and the food served there is good though it's also quite expensive. Finally, receiving multiple reminders about your check-out time or else you'll be fined anything between $50-$75 dollars is not very customer friendly.
We booked a transfer but they didn't show up and we had to get a taxi ourselves. Was ultimately cheaper than using the hotel service though. Meanwhile, they did try to add it to the bill.

Please do not let other reviews scare you. My husband and I stayed at Blue Bay for our honeymoon. Our stay was so incredible...really. We looked into several countries/ilsands before choosing Curacao, and both of us are super happy with our decision! We're from Texas, so we appreciate true hospitality. The entire staff was very friendly. If you happen to go to the bar at Azzuro (the resturant at Blue Bay), Gilbert is the best of the best! He took care of us 100%.

The residents of Curacao also showed us how wonderful people can be; very refreshing.

We rented a car and explored the majority of the island, including numerous unspoiled beaches. Willemstad was amazing. The shops, markets and flow of people was stimulating!

Jaanchiees is by far the best place to eat in Westpunt...I mean, really great.

If you choose to stay at Blue Bay, make sure you either order a map before-hand or insist that one is given to you upon checking in. Having a map helped us out quite a bit.

We cannot wait to go back!!

We stayed at villa # 40. Just a 4 minute walk to the lovely beach. Food at the restaurant on the beach at Blue Bay was expensive, but good. Service a little slow. But the beach and the chairs, cabanas, palm trees, were all fabulous. Water warm and very clear. Lots of very colorful fish right off the beach. There was a nice floating platform to swim out to as well.

The local grocery store just 5 minute drive away had everything you need. A bit expensive, but nice fresh products. The kitchen in the Villa was equipped with the basics, but we could have done with a few more drinking glasses and plates. Coffee maker was broken and although we let the front desk know about it, they never did come and replace it. Luckily we were able to rig it to work. But the front desk people were great at check in, and helped us with finding out about activities.

There were 6 of us renting the villa and we found that it was spacious but lacked a clothes closet in the smallest bedroom. It was easy to get fresh beach towels to use each day. There are some great other little beaches within 30 minute drive of Blue Bay and we found Porto Marie beach lovely, with nice facilities, a great restaurant right on the beach and reasonable rates to rent beach chairs for the day (something like the equivalent of $4 for a beach chair for the day). Take some bug spray with you ~ I got several bites and was warned ahead of time ~ but I didn't take heed. The bugs are a problem at dusk if you are outside. AC worked well in the bedrooms but we would have liked AC in the living/kitchen area as well.

Overall we had a fabulous time and we have booked a villa at Blue Bay for 10 days in February 2012. We only stayed 7 days last time in February 2011 and decided we loved it so much we would go for 10 days the next time. Curacao was very suprising ~ a little known island without the hoardes of tourists thayt you find in most tropical vacation spots. The locals and the Dutch inhabitants were friendly and helpful and almost all of them speak english quite well. The golf course isn't as green and lush as the ones in places like Hawaii, but for $175 for unlimited golf for 7 days, it's a steal. Only one of our group of 6 played golf, but he was able to hook up with some Dutch people for some rounds ~ and he enjoyed their hospitality at the beach bar afterwards. Some of the links are spectacularly perched on the cliffs with great views of the ocean.
We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Our villa was a single story villa and it was very private. The duplex villas I don,t think will be so private.

Nice villas, kitchen a little run down, beds very comfortable, good air conditioning except there is none in the kitchen. Nice resort, good food at the beach restaurant, nice quiet beach with place to snorkel. It's a $45 taxi home from mambo beach after a night out. Cleaning ladies come too early and wake you up and make a lot of noise!! Altogether I would give it a 4/5.

This place is great. Plus if you are annoyed by the Americans who complain a lot like I am, you won't find any here. Its all dutch. Very nice accommodations and quite peaceful. I got scuba certified at the resort. So bring you snorkel gear because the water is perfect. The food at the restaurant was over priced and not so great but there's plenty of other places and you have a nice kitchen. The laundry facility was also way over priced but I had and iguana come to hang out with me so that made things better. All in all, the hotel is nice and great for families.

Room Tip: Book your room at the oceans if you want to be on the beach. Otherwise, if you book the villas, you will have to walk about 100 meters down to it.
