We were a small group and we had arranged to have a local guide. Poul Erik Jespersen was knowledgeable and enthusiastic as he guided us through the archaeological site, told us about the history and translated the rune stones. The museum is located across the street and must also be included. I like the innovated way they displayed the artifacts. This is certainly not an ordinary museum. The museum shop is worth a visit. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted about the complex. Much thoughts, work and money went into this world class archaeological site and the museum. I salute you.

The birth certificate of the oldest Kingdom on earth. This is a must visit for anyone interested in history. A testimony to the more than 1000 years of Denmark as a Kingdom

A fantastic experience awaits for anyone visiting Jelling. I visited this towards late evening. The mounds offer a great view of the surrounding area. The church although kinda sends a chill down your spine, it's a good ol' to structure to visit.
Then comes the best part - the Viking museum. An excellent place to catch a glimpse of the history of Denmark. An interactive walk through the museum offers an opportunity to be a part of history.

Situated in a small village in Denmark near the Church, stands these mounds als resting place of Gorm the old and his wife Thyra. When one see it, it is just a small hills near each other, and there are tombs of the villagers of Jelling.
