The restaurant is on the seafront looking out over the adriatic sea. Only Italian spoken so limited speech, makes you feel like you are living the italian way. Small menu, we had lunch here and ordered the Salmon Risotto which was excellent if a bit expensive. The place was very basic, huge sprawling interior, empty of tables and chairs, they had a lunchtime buffet open to the elements with flies landing all over it which we said no to.

We ate their at lunchtime. Unfortunately, they do not fire up the pizza oven for lunch. The waiter, however, found us a sample of some wonderful pizza that they had made for something else but was very good. We had seafood and it was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very big and not too crowded but the service was excellent and the food was good

Agree with other reviews that the place is a bit tatty, and quite large which adds to it being slightly short on atmosphere. However, have eaten here a number of times with locals while on work trips and you get a completely different level of service and food it seems when you are with Italians. Whenever I've been service has been quick and friendly, with lots of chatter in Italian. We tend never to see a menu, they bring out a variety of antipasti dishes after a conversation, followed by a couple of fish highlights, which tend to be superb - simply cooked, fresh and very, very good quality fish.

Like many places around Palese, I think it makes quite difference to the experience if you can speak good Italian, as it seems that the majority of eating out round here is conducted without menus, but by discussion with the waiters

My wife and I ate here with three friends during a two-night stay in Palese. We sat outside as it was a warm night and the waiter offered us the menu. We ate pizza and ice cream, which was fine, but there were many things on the menu that were not available.

One of my friends asked for a pizza with fresh tomatoes on but they said there was no fresh tomatoes, which was a little surprising given the large tomato element of pretty much all of their pizzas. My wife ordered a Tiramisu but that had run out, as had most of the pizzas. It was easier for them to tell us which pizzas they had left rather than which ones were not available, which is never a good sign. One of our group had steak but they didn't provide him with a steak knife, just a normal knife.

Overall the food was tasty and a good price, but the service and limited choice can only warrant an average score.

We were on our way to the airport and needed to get a quick bite, so we just pulled into the first place we saw. L'ancora was it.
The building is rather run down and our waiter not as tidy as he could have been, but all
the staff was helpful and nice.
We tried the appetizer buffet which had seafood, fish, a variety of veggies and fresh cheeses. It came served with pizza slices, all pretty good.
The fried calamari and shrimp were also good.
The pasta was over cooked but tasty.
Some desserts were good and others we left.
