You may call it "Old Wine in a New Bottle" but it is a far cry from the picturesque old location.
The new joint is right on the highway on the left at the junction where the road for Khatauli peels off from NH-58 as you are driving towards Haridwar. You will find a number of gigantic signboards along the highway informing you of its impending arrival so you can be sure not to miss it. There is another Cheetal Grand right across the highway but I'm not sure if both are owned by the same people. The parking lot is quite spacious and has marshals who will help you with parking your vehicle.
There is this huge hall with seating for about 100 or may be a little more patrons, tables are arranged for 4, 6 or 8 persons to sit together with an option to join tables for bigger groups. The wooden chairs with cushioned seats are comfortable to sit on. Though there is a board proclaiming "Self Service", there are waiters to serve you at your tables. So you have two counters, one to place your orders and the other to make payments. The menu here is not as elaborate as the original joint. it mainly consists of breakfast and snack items. So in case you are in the mood for a hearty meal, you have to go off the highway to the older joint or some place else on the highway. The food is just above average, the kind that you will find at any contemporary fast food joint. I found the place to be neat and clean and hygienic.
Another thing missing here is the exotic birds that were a highlight of Cheetal Grand. What you will find here instead, is a corner for potted Exotic Plants displayed neatly in that section.
The wash rooms are accessible from the outside. I found them to be neat and clean and better than the previous place.
