We stayed here for 2 nights in the family room while visiting the coast. Our room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean with everything we needed. Katrina, Derek and their son gave us a great welcome, offered great advice and nothing was too much trouble. The main house and gardens are gorgeous and full of interesting things. Breakfast was delicious and satisfied all our different tastes. I would highly recommend staying here!

We booked this lovely B&B in February as part of our trip through Scotland,Wales and England. The setting is just beautiful. Upon arrival we were greeted and served tea and cake in the sitting room. Our room was large , clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was lovely with everything you need. Our room was on the side of the house ,so we had a view of the gorgeous fountain and gardens. Cows grazed in the distance. Breakfast was plentiful, from fruits to the main entrée. The homemade brown bread was served hot. Derek and Katrina have it down to a science. If you are traveling to York or the surrounding area do not miss this lovely home. Free wifi and ample parking.

This is a charming Georgian house beautifully restored and equipped to a high standard and run by two very pleasant and helpful owners. I can fully recommend it when visiting this area.
There is also an adjacent caravan park for those so interested.

My family and I stayed at the Wold Cottage in Wold Newton for little over 8 days during the month of June and were thoroughly pleased with our stay!

As soon as we arrived, Katrina welcomed us warmly and guided us through our separate cottage. She even baked us a wonderfully delicious loaf of bread and provided us with fresh eggs and ample amount of coffee for our stay, amongst other necessities. She also provided us with instructions on many of the household appliances as well as the typical day to day occurrences at the B&B, including breakfast and attaining additional supplies.

in addition to her fantastic service, she has written instructions on many aspects of the B&B and neighboring restaurants and attractions in Wold Newton that I recommend you read when you arrive. Everyone in the area knows of her quite fondly, so I think it speaks to not only her character but also to the fantastic service she provides at the B&B.

The property in and around the B&B Wold Cottage is simply beautiful. Inside our cottage we had more than enough space to relax after a long day of exploring surrounding areas. The greenery around the cottage is also beautiful and well maintained. Every morning we were awoken to the sounds of little birds and had a cup of coffee while seeing small bunnies outside of our window. Considering that we are from the city, this was simply brilliant!

Overall, I would say that our stay at the Wold Cottage was one of our favourite parts of our three week trip to England. If we were to come to England again, we would certainly revisit here for a much longer period of time.

Sincerely,
Ron, Marisa and Vanessa

Thank you for finding the time to write some lovely comments about your stay in The Hayloft at The Wold Cottage. We enjoyed hearing about your family history & searching for your ancestors who lived near to us years ago. Hope you have settled back into your city life back in Canada & look forward to meeting you on your nest visit to England??

Lovely stay at the Wold Cottage. Fabulous grounds and we were offered a booking for an evening meal in nearby Weaverton which was delicious. Lovely breakfast and we were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely rebook!
