Spent three nights at this wonderful hidden gem. We had Room 3 which overlooked the car park, room was small but perfectly formed, spotlessly clean and a lovely comfy bed. Tea and coffee facilities and mini fridge also in room. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the dining room window was spectacular. Also had two evening meals and they were great. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all we had a Fantastic stay and will return soon, and hopefully have one of the rooms at the front so we can enjoy the view.

Visited this pub Sunday 20th August for a quick drink and a sit on the wall to enjoy the view, then decided to have a spot of light lunch. Was advised we had to enter the dining room to access the buffet station. We were offered chips and cheese for a cost of almost £8 and a few pieces of ham and chips for almost £9. Food was served on a small plate not even dinner plate size and one portion of chips was a little more than the other. This light lunch lunch optio was take from the 'cold main meals menu' .The chips were of a minimal quantity and were very poor low quality frozen type and greasy, the ham was tasteless and the small amount of cheese given with the small amount of chips would not have made a good cheese sandwich. We have eaten here before only last year, we had a baguette and chips, this was excellent quality and value. Don't know what has gone on there but come on Lathkill Dale Hotel, look at the quality, quantity of your food and charge appropriately as today's meal was terrible and very expensive for the quality and quantity we received. I would not recommend eating here until changes are made others which were sat outside at the same time as us and could not believe what had been charged for the meal which we were served. Terrible just terrible and what a'rip off'.

We planned our walk that day around arriving at the pub for lunch, and were delighted that we did. It has truly stunning views, welcomed the dogs and had a really good choice from the lunchtime buffet. It felt like a wonderful reward for a morning's walk, and inspired us to continue our walk after suitable refreshment!

We had a meal here for my mums 70th birthday. My husband and i stayed the night also. Food, service, accomodation and location are second to none. Staff very friendly nothing too much of a problem. We will definately stay again.

Came across the hotel when walking nearby, friendly staff, good home cooked food ,good beer, excellent views of the valley. Head for Over Haddon, park in the car park then walk down the hill ,take the public footpath along by the river, follow all the way along to the road then public footpath through the field that leads to hotel.
