“Great sailing!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2012

We stayed in a 2 bed duplex apartment in March. The children were undertaking a sailing course with Oman Sail. It had a large living space and kitchen area, with two en suite bedroooms upstairs. The main bedroom was huge, so large that two extra single beds were out in for the children. We were 4 adults and two children. The apartment is a separate building to the hotel rooms. It has an open outdoor corridor leading to the door of the apartment. It is not fully open yet or operational but when it is it will be a great facility. There is one infinity pool with two smalled long ones next to the beach. The beach is not raked of the debris that the Indian Ocean brings like most other hotels we have stayed at and this is a great shame. There is no gym that we could see and you have to walk to the otherside of an unused building to get to the toilets from the pool. Staff could not do enough to help us though.

Room Tip: If you get a duplex apartment, the bedrooms are upstairs on a different floor so any noise from the...

My family and I stayed for 2 week at the resort. The rooms are clean, airy and well equipped, the decor is elegant and the staff helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent. Chef Riener should be proud of what he and his staff have achieved in the kitchen; the waiting staff are lovely.

Oman has many excellent hotels; the Millimium is certainly one of these hotels.

The pool area and staff are lovely. The only negative is the beach lacks landscaping and needs a good clean. The hotel is aware of this and this area will be improved. The sea is clean and swimming in it is a pleasure. The hotel may want to looking at improving air flow in the 'ladies only' pool as it is very stuffy.

Internet connection can be a bit problematic, however this is due to teething problems and on the whole, it was reasonable.

The hotel spa and gym have not opened yet and there is very little entertainment, so if you are looking for action, then this hotel is not for you. It's location is somewhat remote, and you will need transport if you want to explore.

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, then this is the place to do it in. My family and I had a memorable holiday. Thank you to all the Millimium staff, you made us feel very special xx

Room Tip: Families with young children may want to stay in the apartments as the have kitchens; however, they...

Have had the pleasure of staying in this stunning resort once again and we are going back for more. The staff are exteremely pleasant and the rooms easily surpass the more well known hotels in Muscat, for a far more honest price. The food is superb and we had the pleasure of eating the best buffet in Oman at Christmas here and then enjoyed the same level of detail and flavour during our last visit. The prices are sensible until they have BBQ nights or other package deals and they become too good to be true! Especially when you see the setting and get to experience the tranquility of the ocean view when you wake the next day. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting here before this true jewel of Oman realises that it more than competes with the Muscat Hotels and justifiably increases its prices.

Room Tip: For a tiny extra you should ask for Superior Room with a Sea View, the view early evening and in the...

Stayed here for 2 nights in March whilst staying with friends in Muscat.Having been to Muscat many times and been to many hotels for the day, meals etc it was interesting to stay in a hotel for a couple of nights.
The hotel itself is absolutely fab.The decor, ambiance and general appearance is truly 5 star. The rooms are comfortable with large flat screen tv,coffee and tea facilities and huge comfy beds. The bathroom is reasonable size with full toiletries slippers etc.The staff in all departments are wonderful especially in the buffet restaurant where the starters were superb,as were the puds.Main courses were ok but well below the standard of the other courses.Breakfast was again fabulous and eating on the terrace overlooking the marina was a delight.
The bad points were the beach which was awful with rubbish strewn everywhere.Efforts to clean it up were being made but was like trying to push the tide back. The pool was nice but the whole pool terrace area was bleak, unattractive and the 'pool bar' looked like an afterthought with no decor whatsoever and a pyramid of soft drink cans on it.Two staff stood behind it all day and didnt move.On top of that there was no alcohol served even to the point that you were not allowed to buy drink in the hotel and take it to the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can i suggest that it would make sense to serve alcohol at the pool and get the staff who do nothing to go around offering to get drinks for the guests? This would be a win - win situation for all concerned!
In conclusion, the hotel has a lot going for it,but it certainly needs tweeking to compete with other 4 and 5 star hotels in Muscat.

We regularly monitor important web activities primarily to gauge customer feedback.
We are extremely sorry to learn that some of the facilities in the Hotel did not meet your expectations. Needless to say I am happy to inform you that our license to serve alcohol beverages at teh poolside has come through now and final works are still to be completed on the bar counter area as this is still unfinished.

I have immediately brought your feedback to the attention of our Hotel Management and we are taking immediate actions to ensure that this does not re-occur.

Please let me know when you are planning to visit us next so that I can personally make the arrangements for you.
