Description: Casual Italian Eatery. Osteria has a focus on fresh, regional produce throughout their menus. Excellent coffee, organic produce gardens, an extensive wine list, local and Italian beers on tap, fantastic cocktails, a function room and children's playground all make Osteria a great place to visit. One of the Tweed Coast's leading wedding venues, Osteria would love to host your next function in their undercover Restaurant Courtyard or private Function Room. We'd had several restaurants suggested to us in Casuarina but the cold, wet night felt like Italian food to us, warmth, good service and good wine and food were to follow. Osteria has an interesting feel to it, part cosy restaurant, part v casual, part warehouse style modern - and would fit easily into a Melbourne or Sydney scene. The menu was quite extensive with many choices - but we wanted a simple quality Italian meal. We like to opt for something simple but classic when visiting a new place for the first time to see how it stacks up and weren't disappointed when we shared a wonderful pizza and pasta. The pasta at Osteria is hand rolled and our choice came with tomatoes, olives parmesan, lemon wedge, olive oil and house made salsa verde. Our pizza choice was superb - a thin crusty base (why do so many places get this wrong - not here!) Billinudgel salami, garlic, ricotta, and garden herbs. Accompany this with a classic Chianti (him) and an Italian Pinot Grigio (her) and it was a perfect meal. Add to this excellent service, lively music and chatter from the bar that never overwhelmed, and... believe it or not Italian lessons in the toilets! Perfect really.
Be aware week nights vary - one is shared plates, one 'soup night', one a set menu, so check.

Ambient restaurant and yummy food at the Casuarina Sandbar and Grill. Always popular so be prepared for a wait, but it's worth it!!

Hi, thanks very much for your review. We really appreciate it and it has a wonderful impact on our business. I wonder if it is possible to place this review on our page Osteria Casuarina. Our name changed about : years ago and the Sandbar no longer exists. We would be disappointed if your efforts to review us were not enjoyed on our site.

If there is anything you need from us please don't hesitate to contact us at admin@osteriacasuarina.com.au.

Kind regards,
Mark Wilson.

This is a cozy Italian restaurant with a charming and serene atmosphere. On Thursdays there is a set menu featuring cuisine from a different region of Italy providing variation and interest. I have dined here twice in recent times and the food is tasty, the service is pleasant and efficient. Meals are delivered very promptly. There is ample parking nearby. Although we did not bring our children, the staff were quick to point out that children were welcome and there is a play area for children as well. Highly recommended. I will definitely dine here again.

Lovely cafe that offers a great breakfast menu. Excellent coffee and a nice play park for the kids. The portions aren't massive but enough.

We came in a group of 8, so not a huge group, and it was torrential weather, so luckily there was a cancellation and we were seated inside as the outdoor seating they offered wasn't really suitable for dining at the time (which they really should have said when we rang ahead)
We all ordered the 'Just feed me' menu, so chef's selection
The food was excellent, but was really slow to come out and we were there for what felt like forever.
this might have had something to do with a wedding/event going on in their function room but I was to the point of asking if were were getting any more!
They certainly fed us well though and I feel like it was just the circumstances of our visit that made it like this.
Very attentive and friendly staff
