We had a nice experience in this hotel, room was not very big, but decently clean as well as the bathroom, air-con working properly (even as a heater, it was cold when we were there !), no problems with hot water.
Honest breakfast and nice food at dinner, nothing to complain about.
Staff willing to help, even though little English was spoken, good massage, even though the room was a little bit cold. Our room was in the old area, but it was ok for our one night stay for Bac Ha Sunday market (which was stunning)

Very bad hotel, dirty everywhere, blood on THE sheets, sigaret holes, dirt, animals in THE beds. We checked with THE Staff over 15 rooms and could not find one clean room. Next day we Moved out. In Bac Ha a New hotel just opened, Saturday Hotel, very clean , friendly Staff, recommended

Myself and my girlfriend stayed there for one night on our Easy Rider tour. Its a rather large complex. The staff were friendly and nice to us. We went down the road and found a quiet bar for a few beers. We ate dinner elsewhere. Breakfast wasn't too bad. We would stay there again, it looked like the best option in that quiet country town.

This hotel was booked for us as part of a tour of the region and we were warned in advance that accommodation in the area is basic.

The room was clean, had working air con and was comfortable. It was quirky in its decor and basic in facilities but not nearly as bad as the reviews below make out- it's important to remember where in the world you are and immerse yourself in it rather than getting hung up on the mod cons of your hotel room.

We were in town for the Bac Ha Sunday market like most people and it was good to stay the night before so we got to see it in full swing before those on the overnight train from Hanoi arrived.

I'd recommend this as a simple place to stay for one night while visiting the market.

We luckily only had to spend one night in this hotel to be there for the Sunday market , which we wouldn't have missed for the world. Our local Vietnamese travel company did warn us the accommodation options in Bac Ha were limited and he thought this hotel was the best available. The hotel does seem to have two sections , we must have been in the oldest section. Room smelt of smoke, as did the open corridors. Noisy . Room amenities old, dated, hardest bed of our trip, mouldy shower curtain, poorly maintained bathroom. Very basic breakfast. The worst experience though were the "visitors " we had crawling over our breakfast table - cockroaches ! Not sure if there are better hotels in this small town - maybe consider staying in Lao Cai city ( approx 90 minutes drive ) if you want to experience Bac Ha for one day for the markets.

Room Tip: Not sure there is a good room !
