Description: The Hostelrie at Goodrich is a country inn with rooms, a restaurant and bar. The 18th century gothic style building is situated in the pretty village of Goodrich, which is in the stunning Wye Valley close to the edge of the beautiful Forest of Dean surrounded by many historic market towns such as Ross on Wye and Monmouth the gateway to Wales. The Hosterlrie is family owned and run by the Landlord Ayrton. We want to make your experience with us memorable by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere along with great food, a fine selection of local ales and good wines. We look forward to welcoming you at the Hostelrie. “Great place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2012

Went in for a late lunch. Great welcome, very friendly. The landlord was highly enthusiastic about selling thier burgers & the quality of thier locally sourced beef, but sadly the food did not quite live up to the hard sell. I had a steak sandwich. The bread was fairly dry and beef had quite a bit of gristle in it and a big slab of cheese which tended to mask the taste of the beef. My wife had the burger which tasted great, with some really good chips, but she also found the cheese in hers (stilton I think) rather over-powering. We asked for horseradish sauce but it never came, we were outside in the very pleasant garden, so could not attract anyone's attention. Hopefully they will adjust some of these things as there is so much that is good about this place and it looked as if there are other great things on the menue. We do plan to go back.

We visited here for dinner one night and the owners could not do enough for us. Very friendly and full of local knowledge.
Highly recommend the cottage pie was delicious.
