Went in for a late lunch. Great welcome, very friendly. The landlord was highly enthusiastic about selling thier burgers & the quality of thier locally sourced beef, but sadly the food did not quite live up to the hard sell. I had a steak sandwich. The bread was fairly dry and beef had quite a bit of gristle in it and a big slab of cheese which tended to mask the taste of the beef. My wife had the burger which tasted great, with some really good chips, but she also found the cheese in hers (stilton I think) rather over-powering. We asked for horseradish sauce but it never came, we were outside in the very pleasant garden, so could not attract anyone's attention. Hopefully they will adjust some of these things as there is so much that is good about this place and it looked as if there are other great things on the menue. We do plan to go back.
