cute little dinner looking place and in a good spot right off HWY 1, but the food taste like something from a hospital cafeteria and it took forever for us to get food.

Stopped here during a drive up the PCH, there's not around on that drive and this is an decent place to stop off. You do get a great view with your food. There's nothing special about the food here. I had a sandwich with some fries with was okay.

The bathroom here could do with some serious cleaning, it wasn't the best, but maybe something that's expected given the number of people stopping here, which is a shame.

Loved this place. We were driving the San Fran to LA trip when we came across this gem. We sat in the window, had lunch and felt the warmth on our faces from the last of the days sun shining in. Definitely go back when I do this trip again.

We were here in January 2016 for breakfast on our way through, nice cafe with beautiful views. Food was a little pricey but yummy.

There aren't many options cruising down the PCH around the Big Sur area. That being said, there are options about 30 minutes North or South of "Gorda Springs" that are more reasonable on pricing.

The cafe is situated on a beautiful cove that is well known for whale watching (hence the name). We saw a few in the late afternoon which made the stop worth-while. The restaurant is well laid out with a good sized patio and plenty of ocean-facing seating. Service was pretty standard for a small town, no issues.

The fish and chips and the chowder are down right... but I can't speak for much else. The BBQ was very much not Texas style; the ribs had more bone than fat and hadn't been cooked the way we do it in Texas. Understandable, this was California, but don't market it as "Texas BBQ" if you don't have a smoker running 24/7 behind the building. They have a good assortment of drinks but considering the danger of the PCH I wouldn't recommend much unless you're staying at the resort. The price is a bit of a shocker. We ate here twice and paid ~$100 each time for a pretty standard meal.
