First time at Royalton Riviera Cancun, went with my husband for 4 nights. We stayed in the normal part of the hotel (not Diamond or Hideaway).
The resort is lovely and the staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the pools and gym. Room was sparkling clean every day, bed was extremely comfortable and Wi-Fi was excellent in our room and throughout the property. We stayed in the 8 building on the 3rd floor.
As for restaurants, the Italian restaurant (we went for lunch) was one of the worst meals I ever had. The best were the Japanese and steakhouse, those were excellent. Really appreciated how attentive they were to diet restrictions and food allergies. Room service was a hit or miss, a couple were good (ham sandwich, french toast and brownie) and others were very bad. Loved the daily nacho stations and taco bars and the dessert cart.
For the food alone, I wish I had booked 2 nights at the Hideaway since they had gourmet food options and upgraded room service.
But all in all, we had a really good time. Do note that this hotel isn't in the Cancun hotel zone so you can't just walk outside and go to downtown/strip, you'll have to take a 30 minute taxi.More
