The room was huge (Master Suite). Located in the middle of town. Has a refrigerator, hot plate, filtered water, nice beds, couch, and a table wth chairs. You could see the water from the balcony. Make sure to get a Master Suite. Worth the money. The wifi was very signal was very strong the it was fast. The free breakfast kind of sucked. Fruit, toast, coffee and toast. No eggs.

Room Tip: The second floor facing the main street was great.

The hotel and room were very clean Emenities were somewhat lacking. Internet gave you a lot of bars but could never view or download anything. It was definitely weak. There were no hairdryers in the room. It did give you a water cooler and refrig, Upon arrival the front desk staff did not offer any information, about facilities, wifi, breakfast, etc. They did not speak any English and one of our party spoke fluent Spanish and could not get any info easily.

Dear Joseph T:
We all at Hotel El Moro thanks you for your review and observations about our service and hope that despite these problems you had a good satisfying vacation.
Although we have English speaking staff I am sorry that there was none during your staying. Since we have a transportation and tour services in the hotel, Ismael in charge of such service, is a fluent English speaker and is always happy to offer you information not only about the hotel but all attractions that the region has to offer. He and Miguel the hotel manager, are around the hotel all day to solve any problems of communication with our guests.
All our rooms count with WiFi and all basic amenities that our guest need for their staying. We offer soap, shampoo, towels, plenty of drinking water, safety box, air conditioned, breakfast and as you noticed, we pay a lot of attention not only to the cleanness but also the comfort of our rooms and installations. If you need further appliances such as hairdryer, iron and iron table you can only ask for them at the front desk and they will deliver them to your room.
We try to offer as much information and easy registration and payment process in our web page as possible. Nevertheless there is always room for improvement and we will check and fix problems as the one that you mention. You can always send us a message, using the contact us botton in our web page and we will gladly respond to your questions about the hotel, tourist and nature attractions, restaurants and everything you need to plan your vacation. We will always be happy to help you to have the best experience during your visit to the hotel and the riviera Maya region.
We are sincerely sorry that our lack of communication made your staying not as pleasant as you may have wished.
We are sure that you you find all these problems fixed in your next visit to Hotel El Moro where we hope to see you again.
Sincerely
Alejandro Morelos

Ok to stay on a budget, you wont find luxuries in here but all whats needes.

We stayed on one of the master suites with 2 queen beds and a futon, you get a table, 4 chairs and a kitchenette with all needed to cook a meal. Skillets knife a small gas stove, sink, china and silverware for 4 people and a fridge with a freezer so you can keep those six packs or caguama beers cold. Also works for the kids milk.

They offer free continental breakfast from 7 to 10am. And some menu items for extra charge like eggs and bacon for about $4usd, that with the free fruit juice and coffee of the included breakfast its a deal of their own.

Great if you like to cook some light breakfast or a quick bite to eat at night after an adventurous day snorkeling or visiting the near cenotes on the ruta de los cenotes.

It counts with a flat screen tv like 40 inches or so.

No elevator, just open stairs, pool small but enough if you really want to jump into it, with a lounge area on the side with some pool beds and chairs, a couple of small tables and a trash can.

Everything's really clean.

Go all the way to the top floor on the front building where they have a lounge area. bring some snacks and something to drink the view of the sea and jungle on the back are the way to relax.

The bad... showers are worthless no way to take a decent shower, from burning hot to freezing cold water no way to mix it and absolutely no pressure at all!!

Dear EVANGELIONHD:
Thanks for your review and observations. We are sorry about your bad experience with our shower. We are looking for a practical solution for the lack of pressure or rather uneven pressure in the shower of the upper suites (there is no problem in any other of our rooms). We solved the problem with a hydraulic pump but that causes other problems so we reestablished the gravity system. At any rate, we are working on the problem and it will be solved shortly. Sorry for this problem and hope that otherwise, as it seems from your text, that you and your family enjoyed your staying at Hotel El Moro and had a memorable vacation in the beautiful surrounding areas of Puerto Morelos and Riviera Maya. I hope that this problem does not prevent you from visiting us again. We will welcome with the same cleanness, comfort and friendly ambiance of our service.
Thanks again for your review and comments
Sincerely
Alejandro Morelos

Once again my favourite boutique style hotel in the entire Yucatan. The staff, especially my friend Miguel, are top notch, very helpful, accommodating and service oriented. The rooms are nicely appointed to meet your expectations, spotlessly clean and well equipped including a room safe. The onsite restaurant offers a full menu and the food is good. This hidden gem is becoming increasing popular so book early if you hope to get room during the “high season”.

Room Tip: Book early...this is a popular boutique hotel.

I stayed here waiting for family to arrive and stay in Playacar. This was a great spot to stay. There was a restaurant in the front. The room was a good size and had a safe. There was a refrigerator and tv. TV worked but there was no cable or stations. It's a short walk to the center of town and the pier. I would stay again. Not much English from the front desk girl.
