Beautiful resort in the midst of thick western ghats forest. Each room is surrounded by good amount of greenery.
Staff were very warm and welcoming. Very cooperative to whatever we asked for.
I can't miss to mention the food.. great taste and plenty of options, can't miss any of the dishes. Strongly recommend to go for buffet. Do no miss it.
Overall wonderful experience. If you are thinking of a resort in sakleshpur, do visit this. Worth every penny.

Worst service, no intercom, in our 2 night stay housekeeping never came to clean the rooms even after request, we had booked jeep safari in resort and they had cancellled it at last moment after keeping us waiting for an hour citing drivers dint came, ruined our schedule of the day,.. Better stay at other good places which provides good service.. Zero for service at mookanana, waited more than half hour to talk to manager, but he dint come to talk, finally had to leave and continued to our further destination.. Those want service and hospitality stay away from this resort.

My Date of stay : 30th October to Nov 1, 2021

i wanted to give the resort 5 stars but couldn't. Let me write the positive things which i experienced first.

Pro's:

a) Awesome staff : The staff know their job, extremely polite and helpful. They are not fixated on how things have to be done and are flexible to make adjustments to itinerary if needed. Special mention to Pavan Acharya who went out of his way to make day trips outside the resort possible for us.

b) Food: Quality of food is excellent.

c) Location of resort : The resort is right in middle of the forest. Approach road towards the resort is good. The surroundings are calm and quiet, extremely good for some one looking to get away from the city hustle.

d) Cleanliness : Rooms were big and clean. The cottages have an upper deck big enough for 2 kids to sleep on top.

e) Activities : Kayaking, swimming pool, Children's play park including a trampolin, trekking, paid day trips to various places nearby. Do not try to drive on your own to day trips as the roads may not be in the right conditions to drive depending on the rain.

f) Views : Awesome location gives great views from the resort, great for photographs

CONS:

if you have stayed in a place like Taj before, stay away from this resort. Likely you may end up getting annoyed and miss out the positive things resort has.. i hope the management is reading this and makes these changes over time.

a) Power cuts : i understand the location is in a forest, but when running a hospitality service certain conveniences are paramount. One such is a 24 by 7 power supply. The back ups don't start immediately in the event of power cut.

b) Water supply : Our room's water supply was cut as the water in the sump was out. The refill took a while. This should ideally never happen.

c) Phone lines dead : The phone line connections were dead. This was probably due to the thunder which struck on the ground the night before. But even after 24 hours, the phone lines to room were not up. it was very difficult to communicate w/ the staff in this time.

d) Rooms need to be cleaned each day. ideally when the guest is out for a few hours, the staff need to clean the room and replace the towels

e) Leaches may or may not enter the room depending on the rains. Don't be surprised if you find one.

My overall assessment:

if you can ignore the above cons, make a trip and enjoy the place. You won't be disappointed. The place is for nature lovers who like to do things and experience nature.

if you have got used to certain conveniences that 5 star places offer, stay away.

We booked this place for a weekend getaway. The location was nice and weather was good.

The resort had a lot of facility management issues
1) Intercom in rooms were not working.
2) Fan in the room and exhaust in the bathroom not working.
3) The resort had no phone signal ( airtel ) and it was raining.

It was raining and now without intercom we had to go to front desk to complain about the not working fan, needed extra towel and ordering food in the room.

The staff was friendly but these things were out of their control. I would suggest them invest in the property as without proper service anyone coming to this resort is a waste.
