This is wonderful and relax resort at Khoalak we keep coming back and is our number 6 at our same villa .

Just got back from a very restful stay.
Pros:
- Spacious, well-maintained grounds
- Lovely beach access
- Lots of swimming pools by the beach
- Spacious villas, comfortable beds, sitting area
- Walkable to a few Thai eateries, minimarts and massage places
- Shuttle to Khao Lak town (scheduled, payable)
- Food was to a good standard with Western and Thai dishes
- Staff was friendly and accommodating
- Electric buggy available for getting around (note that they will NOT drive you to the main road, a 5-minute walk)
- Very responsive via email
- Gym was clean and spacious
Cons:
- Quite far from any attractions; tuk tuks are relatively expensive for the distance (eg. 650-800 baht for 2-way tuk tuk to night market / old town / Khao Lak town)
- Breakfast buffet was good with a decent selection, however it was the exact same dishes every day
- I saw a staff member around the pool area (mostly involved in maintenance) but definitely no one there to help with raising umbrellas (easy enough to do on your own, but a pool attendant would've been welcome to supply towels, cold water, etc.)
- Clientele is definitely older, European travelers. There's nothing to do in rainy weather. There's a small library but no board games, ping pong, billiards, etc. When I asked Reception, they said guests "normally read a book in their room"...
Tips:
- Krua Thai (eatery on the beach just next to Beyond) was excellent; walkable during low tide (at high tide, there's a small waist-deep river to cross); or contact them via WhatsApp and they can send a tuk tuk (200 baht round-trip) or sometimes a pick-up truck driven by the son (free)
- Next to Krua Thai were some massage huts (350 baht for a 1-hr massage)
- At the end of the resort driveway, there's a bubble tea stand, a local eatery and across the street there's a cart selling som tam (papaya salad)
- The airport is about a 75 minute drive; book a package that includes two-way transfer
- You can fill up your water bottle at the gym or the lobby

After having stayed in several Khao Lak hotels, we settled at Beyond for our last three visits to the area. We love it! We go to Khao Lak every couple of months.
In fact, we love it so much, we have just booked 6 more stays. That says it all.
Looking forward to our next visit in August.

we just spent a pleasurable 2 weeks at Beyond Resort Khao Lak, this was not our first visit, we keep coming back because of the ambience of the resort plus the marvelous and friendly staff. The accommodation is spacious, the bedroom with king bed is adjoined by a lounge/TV area with sliding doors into a large change room with shower and toilet and vanity, complete with liquid soaps/shampoo/conditioner and kettle and bar fridge. The pool area has several pools of different depths plus a swim up bar in the main pool. Breakfast was included with plenty variety on offer, the omelets made to order are first rate. Evening dinner was a buffet most nights, again with plenty of variety and usually with a duo playing/singing great tunes, as well as requests. We ate 3 times at their signature restaurant, Motown On Fire, and the food was excellent, they specialise in steaks but also have fish on the menu for partners who are vegetarians. We just love the staff who we have gotten to know from previous visits - Hat, Alma, Nui, Tip, Tik, Neena, Clarissa, Tan, Molly to name just a few, they are really nice people. We also need to thank the manager (Robert) who moved a rowdy group out who were making every one else's holiday (as well as the staff) a not so good experience, they went and harmony with all the other guests returned. Hopefully we will return next year

this is a superb resort. the staff are efficient and very friendly. they seem very happy in their work which is a testament to the manager. the pools are lovely, the rooms are great, any issues are dealt with immediately (our air conditioning unit stopped working and was repaired within hours). Motown on Fire, the high end restaurant, was magnificent as the food was great and the atmosphere excellent too. Breakfast was excellent and the curries authentic, the only area that could be improved was the variety of food at the beach buffet. Most of the quality was good, some not so much and the desserts were the same every day. We stayed 15 days so I guess that's why it became repetitious. There was a bus to town at a charge.
