“Comfortable villa, great week enjoyed by the whole family”
Reviewed 26 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

If you are looking for quiet weeks retreat, this is the right place for you. The location is in a quiet village off the beaten track.
We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot weather. We visited the Alhambra palace in Granada, about 1.30 hrs drive , but wow was it worth it. We also visited Cartagena also about 1.30 drive, the Roman amphitheater was excellent and the museum attached to it.
The villa is very well placed for these attractions as well as alot more local attractions. We found the beaches just past San Jose town to be very good, and quiet.
If you are looking for a holiday where you have solitude, sunshine and can take or leave busier coastal areas, this is the place for you.

“Great home for those with kids - just a bit too remote for my personal liking.”
Reviewed 11 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Got to the villa at the wrong time - almost 10pm - so went up the steeeeeepest hill ever instead of driving left to the correct hill. Car almost rolled back into ditch, kids were screaming and I was terrified. This was actually my bad for getting there at night when villa was actually avaialble at 4pm. I think the driving directions could have been clearer - pictures via email on where to actually turn would be so helpful.
HOWEVER, once in the villa eveything started looking brighter...
Air conditioning was so appreciated as was a home that was clean, with made bed and with everything working - shower, toilets, washing machine, etc. We do not take things like for granted when travelling when kids including 2 babies. The pool was used everyday after breakfast and until lunch - and then on a couple of occasions also in late afternoon. This is vital for a family like us as it´s very difficult to go out all the time with the babies. We also really appreciated the permanent insect nets that all windows had.
Air con and TV was great for evenings we spent in and also daytime break times for kids.
The views to the mountains from the fence by the pool were so beautiful, romantic even.
Only negative thing I can say about the place was the location unfortunately - the husband found it too remote despite being 5 minute walk from village shops, etc. and also having some other residents nearby in homes. If you´re someone after total peace and privacy but with the ability to drive out if you want then this is the place for you.
I found that wifi would have come in handy also.

Hello Azezza,
Many thanks for your comments, it is much appreciated.
The driving instructions we send out with the address details does indicate that you should take the rambla turning on the left in 300 yards after turning off the main road, rather than take this steep approach - however I appreciate that in the dark this may be a little confusing. I will update the info to make it a little clearer.
I am pleased that you enjoyed the pool area and that it provided some enjoyment and relaxation. We do advertise the villa as a place of peace and tranquility, and we have chosen not to have wifi installed so that there is no tempation to check emails everyday - although as advertised, free wifi is readily available locally in many bars, cafes and restaurants.
The area provides a taste of "true" Spain and I am sorry you found the location a bit too remote, but we do believe the website description is a very fair and true description of what is available and on offer.
Thanks once again for your valued feedback,
Regards,
Lindsay

“lovely villa in very quiet location”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just returned from a very relaxing stay at villa in partaloa. Pool great, ideal for cooling off in as weather so hot. Villa situated on small estate which is very easy to find. Nearest town Albox only 15 mins drive with some good supermarkets (decent cava at only 2euros a bottle)shops, cafes etc. Market on Tuesday worth a visit. Garrucha also worth a visit, nice beach and restaurants, Nautica worth a visit for nice lunch and good value. Mason de Irene was a good find on the industrial estate, approx 10 mins from villa, massive menu, very busy and good value, we chose the 15 euro per person menu, big salad, starter, main, dessert, coffee, chocs and bottle of wine.
Would visit villa in future as such nice location, owners very helpful also.
If you need a hire car at Alicante would recommend EDI, family run, no credit card payments, no fuel charges, no extra insurance and met us at airport with car, ideal.

Matt, Shelly,
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you've had a great and relaxing holiday - we would love to welcome you back to the Partaloa region at any time in the future.
p.s. Thanks for the tip about EDI car hire - not a company we have used ourselves, but will try them out. Thanks

“One of the best holidays we have had”
Reviewed 25 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We flew into Alicante airport and the drive to the villa took us about two and a half hours. The villa was clean, comfortable and everything was there for us to use, inflatables for the pool which the kids had great fun with over our holiday. The welcome pack in the villa gives you lots of ideas of things to do- the views are amazing and it really is a relaxing, 'get away from it all' place. Mojacar is about one hours drive away and really is beautiful and Garrucha is about 45 minutes drive away with a beautiful sandy beach although it was very hot the day we visited.
The local town is about 15 minutes drive away and has everything you could want even a fantastic market every Tuesday - we had great fun bargaining and chatting with the traders. Food and drink is not expensive and to eat out is great value. The neighbours next door were very helpful and friendly. There is a water park in Vera (about 30 minutes drive away) but to be honest the kids were very happy to play in the pool we didn't feel the need to check this out. Lindsay was very helpful before the trip and answered all my questions - we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.

“Lovely villa, beautifully decorated with everything you need.”
Reviewed 29 October 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We spent two weeks at villa cumbre in August and the weather was glorious. We love the area as it is not typical tourist Spain and you feel like you are getting away from it all while you still have lots of amenities close enough if you need them, not to mention plenty of English speaking people to allow us to be able to get on ok with our pitiful Spanish.
The villa was fantastic, we loved how it felt like a home rather than a rental with lovely furniture and furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. Everything is supplied in the kitchen to be able to make ambitious as well as simple meals and be able to eat inside and out. We made excellent use of the barbecue and found food and drink both eating out and at the super markets inexpensive. We were getting excellent quality cava and bottles of Rioja for under 3 euros and found the fish and meat was also well priced, meaning we didn't spend a lot of money and could treat ourselves to some meals out too.
We visited Albox for tapas during the day and Garrucha for a more special night out which was well worth the 35 minute drive. Vera market and saliente monastery were well worth a visit too. Mojacar beach and town are also a good day out. WIth the exception of Albox, everything is about 40 minute drive away but we found that our best days were spending quality family time at the villa by the great pool. The pool was cleaned while we were there and we found that the villa itself was very clean too, The villa is in a small residential area and at first this put us off but the neighbours were very friendly and the villa grounds are not overlooked.
The owners of villa cumbre were very accommodating and their information and communication with us prior to the holiday was excellent. I would definitely recommend the villa and would happily stay again.
