We stayed for 2 nights on a group tour. Our first impression on arriving was that the Hotel looked authentically Tuscan and, being on top of a hill we expected fantastic views. Our room was on the ground floor and the windows were quite high so all we saw from the window was the unkempt garden along the pathway. The bed was very low and quite firm and the furniture looked like it should be in a Scandinavian Hotel room.
Our breakfast was included and we found it to be only average in comparison to our other Hotels. Dinner on one night was also included and, again, only average.
Reception staff were pleasant and helpful but the bar arrangement needs some serious attention. A very unpleasant woman served at the bar under great sufferance.
If staying at this Hotel, I would recommend a car as it is rather isolated from anywhere. The nearest village is a 2 km walk away, on a very busy road.
If we came to Chianti again, we would look for alternative accommodation that is more authentic and friendly.

Room Tip: Something with a view would be preferable

We stayed at CDH Hotel Radda for 3 nights during our stay in Tuscany. The location of the hotel is excellent with stunning views, although you definitely need a car to be able to get around to Radda and any other places you wish to visit. The décor is modern and the hotel spacious inclusive of the rooms. The amenities are excellent, and the pool and spa serve the hotel well. The only minor disappointment is that compared to other places we stayed on our trip, we missed some of the typical Italian charm from the staff. Apart from this, it was a very good place to stay.

We stayed in the CDH Hotel for two nights and liked it. I would give 3 1/2 point if I could, but 4 is ok.
You can see clearly that the hotel is not new, but they did a good job on brushing up everything. The reception was competent and friendly. Our room was spacious. The bar and the breakfast were fine.

The hotel is located on the street between Castellina and Radda well before Radda. If you drive too fast you may miss it. Having said this, it is clear that you need a car. You cannot walk to Radda.

It is not my favorite Tuscan hotel, but ok.

First the good, the grounds of this hotel are quite nice. It's seems to be very spacious and very good size rooms.

The bad. Our first day there we were checked into their Premium Suite on the first floor. This wasn't even what we had booked but I'm assuming they gave it to us because no one else would stay there. The room could be amazing (it had its own foyer with the bathroom on one side and the very large bedroom on the other side) if only it weren't for the absolutely horrible smell coming from the bathroom that made me want to throw up anytime I went in there. We quickly made a complaint about this and were told they would have housekeeping or a technician come look at it. The day went by and neither came to check it out. Regardless of that though, there is nothing that can be done to correct the odour coming from the bathroom. The smell is embedded. We had to shut the bathroom door and bedroom door just to keep it out of the room. The smell still leaked into the foyer. We ended up spending one night in the room and the next morning requested to be moved to another room. We were told that they hotel was very booked up and they couldn't do anything but they would send the technician. We kept arguing and eventually something came up and we were moved. We were dissappointed with how the situation was handled but once we were moved to the other room we felt much better. The room was spacious and clean. Our only complaint is the size of the shower. My husband and I are not big people and we could hardly move in the shower. Every time you tried to do something you would end up hitting the water tap and turn the water off by accident. The view was also not as good but it was worth sacrificing the view over staying in the stinky room we were in. The breakfast included in the room we found to be fairly good. It was the closest to an americanized breakfast we had at this point in our honeymoon and it was refreshing after being away from home for a while. The other thing that we were very disappointed in was the massage that we booked at the spa. The rooms for the massage are open at the top so you can hear everything that is going on. My husband and I had side by side rooms but there must have been a woman with a baby having a pedicure right next to our rooms because all we could hear was the baby crying, the woman talking to the nail technician and the machines for the pedicure going. You would think the nail technician would do something about this knowing that you can hear everything in the massage rooms but she just made it worse by laughing and joking with the other patron. For what is supposed to be a relaxing massage this was the complete opposite. If you don't have the proper facilities to provide a quiet calm massage don't charge what you are charging. They could have also not schedule a pedicure at the same time that we had booked our massage and it would have made a big difference. Taking into consideration the location of this hotel and the disappointment of it I would not recommend it.

we have been to tuscany many times but never slept in that area. searching for a place we where pretty sure that the CDH Radda in Chianti meets what we wanted.
And it did - partly......
the place is great. perfect location, super tuscany style building, nice bar and breakfast area and ok restaurant. rooms are spacious though we never found out why ours was called romantic room because there was nothing romantic about it.
the downside is the service. it is "correct" but there was nothing lovely, friendly, typical italian or so. we had to beg to get a glass of wine at the bar and waited forever (the waiter than took time to explain why he doesn't want to open up now because he had still some duties downstairs), when our aircondition broke and water was pouring down the front desk didn't want to give us another room for one night until they could fix it, for breakfast you had only one hot drink for free and for the next you had to pay........

strange rules and service behavior for us in a very nice location.
