20 yr old son and I (mid 50's) went here to walk the MTB (mountain bike) trail, while hubby relaxed under a palm tree on the beach. That's one of the great things about this area, something for everyone (saw a local fishing at far right end too). There's parking (was supposed to be $4 but no one collected) & outdoor shower/foot rinse. We were staying in Dorado so this was <10 mi from hotel.

Facing the ocean, to the right, the sandy beach ends, lush vegetation / boulders replacing it as it curves. there is a path with a railing at this transition. it takes you up to abandoned campground. At top there is path to right, or straight. Right takes you to the little road that leads to entrance to MTB trail. There is a parking lot and sign showing trail is at the far end, in front of the trail exit. We went straight, meandered down some trails towards water that had nice views or led down to a large, curved boulder beach that some locals were exploring. We eventually got to the road to the trail. Can't get lost. Note that you can drive right up to the trail parking lot if no closed gate, want to bypass the beach / campground walk, or have bikes.

Facing the big trail sign, if you turn around you see a path out of the woods with a little sign saying its the exit. We weren't planning on doing the whole 3.3 mile trail, just the part closest to the water. Someone on ALLtrails had posted they went in the exit and just did 0.65 mi one way (see pic) and turned around (see pic) so we did same. Great breeze along the water but might have been hot/buggy on the rest of the trail and we forgot our bug spray.

I can't just sit on a beach for too long, love to explore. Enjoyed this. The trail is flat, wide, easy. There are some roots and rocks in places, but saw 2 interesting snail shells (with the creatures alive in them) and cool patterned caterpillar looking down, watching my step. The "forest" is tropical and lush, with some orange bark trees. Take your time and enjoy and you will pick up on other sights/sounds beside the great ocean views along the way.

When we were done, son went to hang with dad and i decided to explore and find out what was around the corner of the lush/boulder beach edge. Think i got too close to a heron's nest at one point. She was giving me the stare down (see pic).

This is my wife’s hometown beach and it is a must every time we go to Puerto Rico. Very nice beach, nice and clean water. This time I was able to go try the food from Solimar. A small kiosk at the beach: and let me tell you! It was amazing. The alcapurrias were very tasty and not greasy and the octopus basket was the home run of the day.

For me the this beach is relax: good parking area, nice view and excellent for snorkeling. There is a camping area for those who are very adentures. Very crowded on Sundays.

Easy access, nice, serene, peaceful. Very clean, water inviting. Although there are lifeguard stands I didn't notice any working.
