Just spent 10 nights here and loved every minute.
LOCATION
Around 20 minutes away from paphos airport but was not disturbed by passing aircraft. Around the area thier are bars restaurants and local shops as well as a pharmacy. I would recta walk to the harbour which is around 40 minutes away.

Room
The rooms are basic but clean and tidy the beds were very comfortable although storage is limited.

Food
We have stayed in a lot of all inclusive hotels and this was by far the best got food. Thier was different things each meal time and all tasted great.

STAFF
were really friendly and could not have been any more accomadating.

ENTERTAINMENT
Thier was something happening from 10.00 till 23.00 hours for all ages. The first choice team were amazing. Got to give a special mention to Tezza and Georgia who are a great double act for both the kids and adults and really could go far.

Overall a really enjoyable stay and would have rated higher if the rooms were slightly better but anyone with kids will love it.

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. Within 30 minutes of leaving the airport we were in our room and unpacking. Reception was smooth process and transfer to our room quick after private taxi transfer, which I would recommend.

Having been before we knew our way around, and everything again was in good condition, clean and fresh. The room was a large double and single sofa bed for our 7 year old, nice balcony with view of the pool.

The restaurant was superb, different themes every night to keep the variety. Food and drink on an all inclusive was very good. We recognised a number of staff from last time with Eugenio at the bar, and Dean from First Choice.

The Reps again were superb from reception through to entertainment and sports staff. Tezza led a great team and thanks to Georgia, Dave, Ian, Paige, Luke, Bobby, Jordan to name a few, all of you were superb. Football Academy was again a highlight for Jake, and adult football creates some great camaraderie for the week.

Our only point for the resort is a climatic one - reduce your plastic consumption!

I would recommend this place to any family without question. We have already booked for 2019 in the new hotel, and cannot wait!!

Thanks to First Choice and the Aliathon staff who made this a relaxing and very enjoyable week.

Room Tip: Fishing village area very nice

Our first visit to Cyprus & our first Holiday Village. Were already looking at coming back next year. The holiday wasn't perfect, so I'll start there.
The buffet restaurant isn't big enough,. The hotel was fairly quiet when we stayed, especially at the start of the week yet it could be very difficult to get a table inside. The reason, over 50 seats reserved for hours on end for what appeared to be school trips/training camps. That's about a quarter of the indoor capacity. That wouldn't be so bad if the tables where reserved for a set time but the where reserved from restaurant opening until the kids turned up, usually a couple of hours into breakfast/lunch/dinner time. Having said that, the restaurant staff work their socks off clearing tables when they become available, and on one occasion bringing a table in from outside for us (anything below 20 degrees & it may as well be snowing as far as my wife's concerned.)

Our only other minor irritant has been touched on by someone else. As the hotel had only just opened/switched from winter season there was still some maintenance work going on such as floor painting near the splash pool which stunk for a couple of days. There's also a hotel extension being built near the splash park & lagoon pool. There was little to no noise, very little sign of progress to be honest, but it's not the best look at the moment.

That's about it for negatives, so the positives.
The 20+ First Choice reps are absolutely outstanding, I don't think they could do more if they tried. They're the first out & the last in & don't seem to stop in between. There's a constant stream of activities in & around the lagoon pool all day. It can be noisy around the lagoon pool but it's much quieter around the Aegean Village pools if that's what your after.

On arrival we where taken to our room by a porter on a golf buggy. You need it. Arriving at 9pm there's no chance of finding your room by yourself.

Our room our room was a1st floor fishing village room with a pool or garden view. Don't expect either. If I hung over the balcony I could just about make out a couple of sun loungers & all the windows where overlooking the balcony so they had no view either, we overlooked the gardens if you left the main door open but I don't come on holiday to sit in my room so I'm not bothered by the "view". The rooms where very spacious for the 3 of us, our bed was massive, there's a small kitchen that we never used & the bathroom is a decent size. Only down side to the bathroom is the shower really struggled to hold a steady temperature.

Our son spent quite a bit of time in the kids club & absolutely loved it. I think he would quite happily have brought Max home with us. Harry had his 6th birthday while we where there & the kids club made him a birthday card, which was a nice touch. They also got him up on stage at night so everyone could sing happy birthday, he was so excited, I think it made his birthday.
While I'm on the subject of Harry's birthday, when we returned to our room that evening we found a birthday cake in our fridge. It's little things like that that a hotel don't need to do that make a good holiday a great one.

Back to the buffet restaurant. The food selection is absolutely fantastic for an all inclusive buffet. Plenty of choice each day & very little repetition throughout our 7 days. There was a Mexican themed night and an Asian themed night which where both fantastic. There might have been an American themed night but since there no real mention of the themes it can be difficult to spot if it isn't obvious. If you struggle to find something to eat it's really your fault not the hotels. We are fairly fussy eaters, my wife especially & we ate like pigs. Every dish has a label giving allergy information as well which is helpful.

I've only scratched the surface with this review but I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Like the title says "Not quite perfect" but it was pretty damn close.

Great trip! We arrived on the 28th, weather wasn't great but it's March.
It did improve over the week and became very comfortable for small children.
The temperature was around 20-22 throughout the week. Ideal for small children and babies.

We used the splash park mostly, the kids really enjoyed it. Many people were also swimming in the larger pools. The hotel itself is beautiful. I particularly enjoy the fact it's not high rise blocks. It was spring, so plenty of flowers sunshine and a light breeze.

Was not very happy with our room on arrival, reception staff were extremely understanding and we were given an upgrade to the swim up block. We were located on the 2nd floor, views were great and the room itself was very nice, modern, open and bright. Thank you reception team for amending this for us, excellent service. I would recommend this block for anyone thinking about revisiting and happy to pay a little extra, or families that enjoy the modern feel.

The children enjoyed the kids club and the girls in the nursery worked very hard to ensure my daughter enjoyed her afternoon sessions. Thank you team! The Easter Sunday events were also very enjoyable. I was slightly disappointed that the children did not receive a chocolate egg. We have been here before over the Easter period and the children were able to hunt 'real' chocolate eggs. Nevertheless, we all had a fab time.

We received an excellent service in the restaurant, Georgia was brilliant and works very hard. My children adored her and she always had a smile and was on hand to help. We have been to the Aliathon many times and she remains a personal highlight for me and my family. I would also like to say a massive thank you to Michaela located at the swim up bar. My son really enjoyed her company, she is great with kids and a great addition to the complex.

Overall, I would most definitely recommend this holiday village to family and friends.
If you are looking for a short flight from UK, great weather and reasonable prices this hotel is for you. Thank you all the team behind the Aliathon! Another fantastic stay. See you soon.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms!

Just about to leave the resort and the break would have been fantastic apart from the fact that our door lock did not work properly for 4 days and each day we reported it to reception they patronisingly told us that the key must be kept away from mobile phones (which we had of course). They then checked the card and told us it was fine but would get maintenance to come and let us into our room. Which they did on 4 consecutive days. Most worrying of all on one of the 4 days the door was actually open even though the key card would not work.

On the 4th day of the door lock not working we got an apology and were told that there was a problem with their machine that programmes the plastic key cards. Only to then be patronised again by the so called custom liaison and told to make sure the key is kept away from mobile phones.

The least you expect when you are on holiday is that your room key works properly.

Even though we did not feel safe leaving anything in the room they still charged us 21 euros for the safe in the room.

Just a warning for anyone coming out here check your room key works as it is very annoying when you walk back late at night and it does not work and the people on reception do not care and are actually very rude.

What I must say is that the rest of the staff here are superb and nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment staff are also great and work very hard.

You seriously need to teach your reception staff how to deal with customers that are having an issue as manners do not cost anything and should be the least to expect.
