My husband, myself and another married couple spent a week here from 10-17th August 2013.
Our friends had chosen the location and cottage as they know Wales quite well plus it was very hard to find availability over summer time, but they managed to book a fantastic cottage.
On arrival to the cottage, we were impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage, including a very clean kitchen and bathroom. There is just a slight smell of dog which is to be expected as the cottage does allow dogs.
We were also impressed with the size of it, the kitchen, dining room and lounge area are all spacious and very comfortable. There is enough furniture to cater for everyone and the kitchen is well stocked with all the cutlery and other items you might need during your stay.
The other couple stayed in the double room, which was very spacious and they said the bed was comfortable, my husband and I shared the twin bed room which was spacious as well and included dressing tables and hanging space. The back room designed for babies and children was also large enough if you do have kids, it also had a cot in there.
The bathroom is a bit smaller, but the shower is good and fine for 4 adults sharing for a week.
The garden is large and would be great if you had a dog as it could explore quite a bit. Only downside was we did not locate the bbq, but thankfully we had brought our own bbq.
The cottage also stocks, board games, radio and puzzles for when you want to spend evenings or even days in. The television is also in good working condition and is a good size.
Location wise, you do need a car (the cottage has space for 2 cars to park which we used). It is walking distance into the high street of Cilgerran, including the 3 charming pubs and the castle. All about a 20-30 minute walk and we felt safe walking back later in the night from the pub. All locals are very friendly.
We spent most days out exploring the rest of the Pembrokeshire area and felt we were situated well enough to easily get to where we wanted to go to. Also, if you are lost for ideas, the cottage has many brochures and a folder with information on different sight seeing activities.
Please be aware that we got limited mobile phone reception whilst in the cottage (in the garden we could get a little reception) and there is no Wi-Fi available.
Overall, we would recommend this holiday let to family and friends as it is a fantastic choice as well as being reasonably priced. Further to this, both my husband and I as well as the other couple would definitely stay again.
