Wow...

We stayed during our honeymoon in two villas, the plumeria and jumpee. We had, quite simply an amazing time. First things first, nearly everyone has commented on the hill, yes it is steep, but it is well worth the trip. The views are quite simply amazing, I've had a couple of people ask for the website just from the pictures that I came back from the trip. I will be uploading pictures later if I can, but the website does not lie, the views are really that great. The hotel staff has competent drivers who arrange shuttles down and back to chaweng and lamai beaches, or you can rent a car. The trick is to keep everything in low drive on the way down and on the way up, we had a honda jazz (fit in the states), and had no problem negotiating up and down the hill.

The staff is simply amazing, I have stayed in luxury places in Europe and America, and have never been treated so well by the staff. Everytime you pass them you get a saswadee ka (most are women), a bow, and a smile. They made great recommendations, booked all the trips, and pretty much did everything and more to make sure our stay was amazing. Once we were at a restaurant, Betelnut, which we highly recommend anyone to go and try, and when we were dropped off, we told the driver that we probably would get a ride back to the hotel. Well we forgot about the time and had a few drinks at the restaraunt, and the hotel gave our cell phone a call, a 11:15(they give you a cell phone to communicate back and forth to the hotel). The front desk closes every night at 11, and they wanted to make sure that we had transportation to the hotel. Even though they were closed, they arrainged for a taxi to pick us up at 11:30, to take us back to our room.

We also met one of the owners, who was very helpful in telling us places to go, restaraunts and bars to eat at. He was the one who recommended Betelnut, which again, I highly recommend for anyone. Like everyone he was really nice, and I think what separates this hotel from all other is that everyone was geniune. It seems like everyone genuinely cared that our stay in Thailand was a dream, and that we were having a great time. They catered to our every need, and to be honest, I do not know if I will ever be able to replicate this experience anywhere else. Simply put, words fail me when I try to describe how excellent everything was at this hotel.

Everyone here made our stay wonderful, and we are planning on going to koh samui again just to stay at this hotel, during a more extensive tour of asia vacation, hopefully in two years.

One of the best rooms (Amarin) I have ever stayed in. Peaceful, beautiful, even smelled great. The views are amazing. The staff was willing to cater to all of our requests (we traveled with a 4yr old boy and 3yr old girl), no questions asked, including special breakfast requests. Even if the drive up and down the hill is a bit tedious and slightly expensive, you will not be dissappointed in any way by choosing Sandalwood.

My husband and I enjoyed our our 17 night honeymoon in the Camellia Room at Sandalwood. I had booked our room over 6 months before the date and was reading every review and imagining what it would be like once we finally got there, and of course when we did finally arrive we were just amazed!
Arriving there and seeing such a beautiful view, really brought the energy back into us after such a long flight/stopover. The main infinity pool is just gorgeous and as I realised later on, even just being still in the pool and looking at the view was just so peaceful and relaxing.
The Camellia Room is very private and with another gorgeous view of the samui coastline. We loved our room, for 17 nights it was our little retreat.
Service in this place is really first class, they are very attentive, bringing you bottle of water while sizzling in the sun by the pool, cleaning up our room when we left the resort. The drivers! Who are ever so lovely! and Joy and girls at front desk are very sweet, and the girls in the restaurant were very cute, getting to know us and what we wanted as soon as we stepped in for breakfast...(i.e ginger tea)
The mobile phone they gave us to keep, incase we needed to call them we thought was such a thoughtful and helpful thing, it was nice to know we could call them at anytime.
We had hired a car for 10 days, so it was nice to travel around the island and go to Chaweng then come back to our little hideaway
Overall, our honeymoon was just beautiful and we didn't want to leave, we probably could have stayed another 17 nights!!!
The only little tiny downside that stood out to us, was the bathroom smell in the main bathroom of camellia, some days it become abit strong, and the portion size of the food compared to the price espcially on the surf n turf we thought didn't represent what we were paying for..Having dined out so many places during our stay, and getting to eat some amazing foods and at great value prices, we thought with that price the portions should have been bigger...BUT THOSE ARE JUST TWO TINY THINGS....The rest we can't stop talking about to our family & friends....You guys definitly deserve your number 1 title... We wish we could be back there!! :):)

We stayed at Sandalwood Villas on Koh Samui from 04/09/09 till 17/09/09. What a beautiful place. The villas are just so beautiful, comfy and great. My husband, myself, our son and a friend, stayed here and we all just fell in love with the place and the staff and we will definitely be back next year. We salute you Dave, Pon and the team.

The view from the villa is gorgeous and it was so easy to get around the island. As far as luxury goes, this is it for us! Nothing was too much trouble for this team and one can see this in every little detail in and around the villa. This was by far the best holiday accommodation we have ever chosen and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

If you want the perfect honeymoon then look no further than Sandalwood, we were blown away by the staff, the view, the location, the spa and felt like we were home as soon as we arrived, a special mention has to go to Joy & Yum who were with us for our monk blessing, David, Pon, and Taeng and all the staff were wonderful, we so reccommend the Thai massage for the spa, we ate at Sandalwood for alot of our stay and the food was amazing, you also have to ask David for a cup of his special blended coffee.
We can not praise Sandalwood enough, thank you just does not seem enough as they made our honeymoon perfect, the only thing we didnt like was leaving,
again to david and all the staff a massive THANK YOU, we will be back some day soon.

Sawasdee krup, We are very happy you enjoyed so much your honeymoon with us. And, thank you for introducing the staff to Irish customs and Arthur Guiness Day. Dublin must be a fun place. Again, we had pleasure to offer our hospitality to the both of you. David and the Sandalwood team
