Very nice view over the island. The path is terrible so you need to take care how you get there. Very nice adventure.

We read about the top of the hill on Koh Samui: 605m above the sea level, with a 360 degrees view of the whole island (and beyond!) and a temple. It was a gray day so we took our rented scooter and headed up... Such an adventure, but beware: It is NOT FOR EVERYONE! There are a couple of streets you can choose from with a few viewpoints each, but the road is mostly unpaved at the end, so be sure to head there prepared (no first timers, it is quite narrow and steep too - know your limits!!!). Moreover a lot of 4x4 vehicles head up and down the road loaded with screaming tourists throwing water around, so you also need to be careful to that (or just join them on whatever tour they're doing). The view from the top is great, and while going up you pass through durian, coconut and banana plantations. There is a temple and a couple of Buddha's statues (quite big ones, actually). One of the statues is in a square with a bunch of bells that you can ring. There are a couple of restaurants along the way that also sell gasoline in case you run low on it. Other lower viewpoints also offer great views and are much easier to reach as the road is fully paved until those points. Overall our most exciting adventure on Koh Samui so far, lots of adrenaline! Only found another couple doing the same track with a scooter - all the others daring to were locals working in the plantations.

Amazing views from top of mountain, nice restaurant but quite pricey, mountain top swimming pool, although you do have to pay to use it, (only 100THB).

On top of the Koh Samui in the mountains above Lamai you will find the mighty statue of Phra Buddha Teepangkorn. The second big buddha on the island. To get to Teepangkorn Temple you have to take the challenging windling road to the top and you probably should think twice if you not an experienced driver! They also have a museum on the top with old artifacts. The view from here is amazing and there is nothing on the island that can top this, not even close!
