We recently attended a wedding at Caversham House and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The gardens are well laid out and well kept and provided the perfect setting for the wedding and the drinks before dinner. The dinner, the service and the lay out were top class. We were told that Sunday lunch was something to be experienced and we will be back. We highly recommend a visit.

The restaurant was very quiet for a Thursday lunchtime and we chose to sit outside under the gorgeous wisteria arbor; a lovely setting. The mains menu was kept to a small selection, I think perhaps the chef is working on the principle of doing a small number of dishes really well rather than many in mediocrity, and from what we had, I would say this is a sound philosophy. Each member of our party of three elected to just have a main course: one quail, which was said to be really good, and two salt water barramundi. The $39 price tag was justified with the meal being a cut above those at some other local restaurants. The fish was cooked to perfection; juicy inside but with a crispy skin. The flavours were excellent. Wine was priced from around $8.50 per glass, although the serving of my white was small in comparison to the reds at the table, and certainly to the serving size at other Swan Valley restaurants. Despite this I would return just for the Barramundi.

Hi Perthies,
We appreciate your lovely review. We are very lucky to have some great Chefs here at Caversham house. They are very deserving of their awards over the years.
I will pass the serving size for wines over to the bar manager. We have had a few trials with new staff in the last month which may of unfortunately contributed.
Thanks again,
The team at Caversham House

My partner and I went to Caversham House for a last-minute lunch. It took us a while to find the entrance (it wasn't well signed and it took us a while to come across some staff - it was quite empty so we weren't sure if we were intruding on some wedding prep), but that was the only thing remotely negative about our visit.

The food was absolutely excellent, everything from the home-made bread to the chocolate fondant dessert was perfect. The service was wonderful, the two women serving us were extremely friendly and attentive. They were even happy for us to hang around finishing our desserts as they packed up after restaurant close (they kindly gave us a longer break between main and dessert because we had over-eaten across entree and main).

I also really appreciated the little starters the chef sent out free of charge. As I was allergic to some of the components of the one they were making that day, they even whipped up another one specially for us!

Would highly recommend for a fancy lunch in a beautiful setting.

I visited Caversham House with a large group and was really impressed by the beautiful grounds and gardens, can only imagine how good it would be for a wedding. The buffet lunch was on offer and I found all the dishes to be very good and always plentiful with empty trays being replaced immediately. I will visit again with my family soon.
