Checked a five star alliance page for a five star hotel recommendation and the hotel came up. Certainly the reference is wrong and the manager on duty just told me he never heard of the five star alliance ratings.. nice location, a 3 star type mix of self catering accommodation with some hotel services but no minibar in the room - even water! However you get a little fridge and even a hob with some frying pans! Perfect but the hotel needs to change its five star description!

Thank you for your review.

We are sorry to read that in your opinion the resort was not exactly they type of accommodation you were looking for. With regards to the mini bar, one can order a mini bar package of your liking from our mini bar menu. Most of our rooms have a kitchenette which gives the added option should one decide to make use of it, however our restaurants offer a selection of menus.

We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you once again.

Regards,
Josian Vella

My husband and I stayed at Radisson Blu from April 5th - April 12th and it was just perfect! The staff and generally the people of Malta are lovely. Very caring and very polite. Our room was beautiful. It felt like home for us and we had good night sleeps while we were there however the pillows were very large but this was rectified after we asked housekeeping staff for smaller pillows. We had a country view room and there were campers outside the hotel on our side so during the evening and into the night they would be quite noisy which would prevent us from sleeping.
The hotel is secluded therefore we had to catch a bus everyday to go out to town but the rate of €1.5 per bus ride was cheap enough to make the trip everyday. The bus stop is situated outside the hotel too so you’d never get lost on your way home.
We had booked 4 days breakfast while we were there and we were able to choose what days we wanted to go down for breakfast which was very good to have as sometimes we would wake up late or have an early excursion. The breakfast buffet couldn’t have been better. We even had specially made halal chicken sausages and chicken breast which was brought to the table for us, they really considered their guests needs and made us feel comfortable during our meal.
The beach is just outside the hotel and was spectacular with clear waters and soft sand. It wasn’t over crowded and it looked beautiful day and night as we would spend some of our evenings looking over at the sun setting over the beach.
The spa looked lovely too however it was very over priced so we didn’t go. I’d recommend the prices being decreased in order for guests to be able to afford the treatments.
Overall however I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Families were present during our stay and I felt it was just right for couples too.

Our second year at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands having enjoyed our first visit so much that we became members. As before, the service was impeccable and the staff there go out of their way to please and made our stay enjoyable. We have a one bed apartment so there was plenty of room for our granddaughter to join us. The apartments are equpped with kitchens and equipment such as microwave, 2 ring hob, toaster and dishwasher to enable self catering but they also have a range of restaurants on site. Indoor and outdoor pools and a private beach. There is a bus stop about 200 yards from the restaurant giving reasonable access to the whole island. You can arrange airport transfers with the hotel, we paid €60 return for the 3 of us. A combination of time in the pools and days out, including swimming with dolphins at the Marine Park, made the stay memorable. Already looking forward to our next visit.
