We travelled to this hotel on 1st April 2012, and we were really pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews it makes you wonder what people want out of their holiday, (just ot moan I think) we were warmly welcomed by Lola and other reception staff who were extremely helpful throughout our holiday, the hotel food was as to be expected on an all inclusive holiday and always plenty of it. It was constantly being replenished, plenty of salads, meat choices, chefs cooking fish and other meats at a separate part of the restaurant at each meal time, tables always being cleared and fresh linen replaced where necessary. The rooms were cleaned daily, except Thursday and Sunday, but I am sure most people can make their own bed so staff can have time off. The staff did their very best to enforce the No Towels on Sunbeds Rule, and am ashamed to say a lot of the culprits were English. The second week we were there was much better because the Easter break was over so the hotel was a bit quieter, so more beds available, and occupied instead of just towels. The only problem with the pools was that the small pool was heated to a nice temperature, so everyone swam in that one making it a bit over crowded at times. The large pool was freezing!!!! The hotel runs a free bus several times a day to the beach/bus station and we travelled all over the island on public transport which was very cheap and easy to use.We found the walk up the hill to the hotel easy, although some people complained that the hotel was at the top. Best days out were to Palmito Park, which is a full day, and Souix city was worth a visit. Yumbo Centre was a really good night out, and taxi from the hotel was only about 6 euros. Although during the day we did walk twice to Playa di Inglis. lovely walk if you take your time. Market day on Friday at Costa del morgan, catch a bus, it is much cheaper than booking through the rep. We did not book any trips via the rep. we did them all on local buses.

Room Tip: most room look onto swimming pool, just ask for a pool view

We have just returned from the Mirador, lovely hotel the staff were always helpful and polite, food nice, the hotel was very clean and the rooms fine. The hotel in my opinion was like a four star, the pools were clean but cold, lots of sun loungers, I can imagine the hotel to be very busy during the school holidays. We had a fab time until Thursday at 00.30 when groups of young Spanish male and female, turned up.... running up and down the hallways, moving furniture, singing, generally being VERY loud, we contacted the reception and complained, the noise finally stopped at 3.30 am. Friday night was even worse, loud music, shouting to other balconies, slamming doors and lots of shouting, again we contacted the reception, not sure of the outcome, we had no sleep that night as we needed to be awake for 3am for our flight home. We were considering booking this hotel again in a few months, but obviously their policy is to allow large groups of young people to the hotel.... and thirty or more 20 somethings makes a lot of noise, shame really as it spoilt this holiday for us.

Room Tip: Block C is on the motorway, loud road and the roundabout, but does have a sea view.

Dear terri b,

Thank you for sharing your comment on Tripadvisor. Your words are very important for us they help us to improve our service.

We were glad to hear that you were happy with our hotel services, food and the pool. Knowing this will be a big motivation for us to work even harder for our guests.

However we were concerned by the fact that you confronted some noisy neighbours. Our general policy is that after 11pm the guests should be able to avoid extra noise, we would sincerely like to apologize if you encountered something that is against that. We appreciate that you let us know about your concern and we hope that in the future we can have more strict control with the noise in our hotel.

We hope that despite of this incidence we will be able to welcome you back again to our hotel.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

I travelled with my partner and a few friends to the Dunas Mirador, Maspalomas for one week during April 2012. The hotel looked nice and the rooms were spacious and sufficient for our needs.
We were all inclusive and these arrangements suited our party, the food was typical all inclusive with salads, some attempt at rice dishes (how on earth do you make a rice dish so bland?). There was a strong emphasis on fish dishes. (Ok if you are a fishy person but not for us). There was also a meat choice on the grill mainly Pork, but one day of chicken and one day of steak.

The all inclusive drinks were the usual local beer, local spirits and a selection of soft drinks. However on the first day one person at the bar allowed a dash of lime for the ladies and on the second day the lime was not all inclusive. The bar person was quite rude with this and would not allow lime to be added to the drinks.

Whilst i am on with the bar staff, one particular day I was allowed to convey some drinks to the table using the tray, providing that i returned the tray ASAP but on the second day the tray was not allowed. Although some Spanish groups that were staying at the hotel used the tray regularly??

The poolside snack bar had a very rude and arrogant person that regularly ran this food area, Benito, you need some manners and some training in customer relations and if you are going for some training then take SNTA Lopez with you as she also could benefit from this type of training too.

The only bar that would serve drinks to us was the pool bar that was open until 11:00pm but if you chose to sit in reception next to the adequately equipped bar then you had to pay for drinks as this bar was not all inclusive. Therefore you had to walk in the dark to the pool bar up various steps and ramps dodging sunbeds and chairs then carry the drinks back.

The restaurant staff were also very rude and unhelpful unless of course if you have the native tongue, then they are prepared to bend over backwards for you.
All in all had a good week but this was due to the group of people that we travelled with, what I would like to say to the hotel management team, you need to assess where the financial revenue is generated and ensure that all the staff treat people equally and with respect.
Can’t forget the entertainment team, they work tirelessly throughout the day and are really good with ALL the people there.

Room Tip: Rooms in the B block face the pool

However, we were alarmed by the fact that you encountered some rude behaviour by our bar and restaurant staff. Our sincerest apologies if you did not get this kind of image from us. It is very important for us to hear your thoughts and concerns in order to improve our service.

We hope to be able to welcome you again to our hotel.

Went with my 17 year old son all inc for a week, 9th to 16th April via Thomas Cook. The hotel was well presented, the staff were very pleasant and helpfull. The room was nicely furnished, twin beds and a nice bathroom, maid service very good. The pool area was fab, lots of sunbeds, pool bar was as expected, snacks during the afternoon cakes at 4pm! Will mention the animation team, they were very pleasant, funny and organised lots of things to do.
The Food on the whole was very good, breakfast a bit routine and probably the worst of the lot, lunch and dinner had a good variety of food which was well cooked, various things cooked to order by a chef each evening. The only drawback to the place was location, no bars or nightlife nearby, nothing to do after 10 pm. One other annoying feature, all inc was not available in the hotel lobby bar, you had to use the pool bar or disco. Maybe I am being a bit picky...would I go back, I think so...
