My husband and I stayed here for seven nights (half board) at the beginning of September. It was our fourth visit here, which speaks for itself! This hotel is utterly superb and more than deserves its five star (plus) rating.
The setting and appearance of the hotel is lovely and oasis-like and you can enjoy beautiful views of the hotel pool, gardens and distant mountains as you dine outside on the roof top terrace at breakfast and dinner. The hotel is pristine and the rooms and outside areas are always kept immaculate.
The bedrooms are large, airy and beautifully decorated and the toiletries provided are of the highest quality. You have a spacious outside, private balcony/ terrace which is lovely when having a coffee in the morning ( capsule coffee machine and kettle along with generous complimentary supplies of fresh fruit and bottled water are replenished daily by the efficient housekeeping team).
It would be criminal not to go half board at this hotel.... the evening meals are stunning, four course affairs and meals are often of Michelin star quality. Each Sunday and Monday there is a sumptuous buffet night and the quality, variety and generosity of the food available has to be seen to be believed. Breakfast is served buffet style each morning and offers a wide and delicious selection of cooked to order hot dishes and continental items, abundant fruit, cheeses, yogurts and smoothies are also on display along with delicious cava and freshly squeezed juice.
The staff at this hotel are universally fantastic and of the highest calibre. They are friendly, polite and efficient and are a joy to interact with. Our housekeeping team were excellent and thorough. The waiters (both in the main restaurant and poolside restaurant) and the bar staff are all highly trained, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The excellent manager of this hotel is visible, hands on and accessible to all guests and makes a real effort to speak to and welcome all guests during their stay. We felt very valued as customers because of this. The reception team are also excellent and friendly.
The pool team (we encountered two different men I think) are very pleasant and always quick to provide immediate assistance in setting up your sun lounger . Nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel has an excellent gym, giant saltwater heated jet pool and an extensive selection of saunas for the use of all guests. My husband had a massage at the spa and thought it was amazing. All the spa staff were pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is close to the beautiful beach and sea (accessed via a rear gate) and the area itself is great . Reception provides you with a complimentary beach bag with towels and bottled water each time you go to the beach which is a really nice touch. Lots of good shopping, entertainment venues (including open air cinema) and good restaurants are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
I could write much more singing the praises of this hotel but need to stop somewhere! If you are after a tranquil, luxury hotel with excellent food and staff this is the place.
