We were unsure about the Seaside Palm Beach as we had not visited Maspalomas before and we would not normally visit this size or scale of property.

In fact we were extremely impressed by the hotel. We personally liked the colourful and stylish decor in the rooms and public areas which were consistently clean and well-maintained. We were a little disappointed that the double bed was two singles pushed together but using the bedside cabinets as anchors meant that we stayed together over the night...

The main pool is very nice, there is also an adults-only pool which is a long way from the children's activities. The hotel does suffer from the problem of sun loungers being reserved from very early in the morning but we were always able to find somewhere to sit. The hotel guide says that reserved sun loungers not used for an hour could be 'reclaimed' but we felt uncomfortable doing so.

Our highest rating was definitely for the food - the barbecues and buffet breakfasts were consistently excellent with a huge range of very fresh food including luxury items such as steak, lobster and oysters. Service in the main restaurant was superb and we were very glad that we had chosen half-board (again, an unusual choice for us). Our only disappointment was the upmarket restaurant, Orangerie - the night we dined there we were the only customers and the food did not live up to the premium pricing. Definitely, stick to the main restaurant every night.

The location is very good, handy for the beach and dunes and for the (very average) beachfront restaurants.

We would probably not return to this part of Gran Canaria but if we were to do so, we would have no hesitation about staying at the Seaside Palm Beach

Room Tip: We were in room type C, fifth floor with garden view. Dune views are more impressive but we liked b...

Dear Seaside Palm Beach Guest,

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us and other holiday makers on Tripadvisor.

It is a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay at the Seaside Palm Beach***** and that you were especially satisfied with our hotels outstanding service and stylish decor.

It is correct that the rooms comprise of two beds next to each other which can be prepared as two single beds or as a double bed, this affords the hotel the flexibility to satisfy guests’ individual requirements.

As our Seaside gastronomy is of excellent quality and highly appreciated by our clients as well as by you – we were surprised to read that the Orangerie did not meet your expectations. The Chef will be elaborating a new menu this summer and pamper us with it this winter; hopefully you will give it another try.

Since we are eager to maintain our high quality standards, we appreciate any comments and suggestions from our guests that help us maintain and improve our services.

We would be pleased to welcome you again on Gran Canaria and at the Seaside Palm Beach***** on future holidays.

With best regards

My husband and I wanted a quiet holiday in a good hotel with nice food and decent people, near the sea and in walking distance of the shopping area. That is what we got.
The hotel is well situated near the beach and dunes (what a view from the room!). During the morning and part of the afternoon you can enjoy the sun from your terrass. In april it is very nice that one of the 4 pools has heated water. The wellness center is excellent. One of the nicest things is that you feel at ease in the hotel. No stressy situations in the restaurants, enough chairs near the pools, nobody is pushing you to do things. It is relaxing, all the way! We will be back after this nice first experience.

Room Tip: For bad sleepers: floors 5 tot 7 are without noise

My wife, son and I just returned from a stay at the Palm Beach hotel and I would not hesitate to return or recommend it. It is in a great location, right near the beach, the dunes, shopping and restaurants. The staff goes out of their way to make sure that your stay is relaxing and comfortable.

The food at the hotel was excellent. They alternate between a fixed 4 or 5 course menu and a barbecue night for dinner. There is plenty to choose from at the barbecue, you can enjoy fresh fish, all sorts of barbecued meat (steaks, chops...), pasta, salad and more. Also every night has a great selection of desserts for those with a sweet tooth. The wine selection was excellent and the wait staff was very helpful recommending reasonably priced wines for us to try.
The breakfast buffet is expansive with an Omelet station, fresh Danish and pastries, cereals, waffles and pancakes. They even had a crepe station a few times during the week.

My wife and I like to get up early and walk and this is a great location for that. You can head North along the beach and past the dunes, or stick to the boardwalk South along the coast. You are never far away from the Ocean.

Be sure to take the metro bus from Maspalomas to Las Palmas. It is a true city and visiting the old part of the city with Casa de Colon, Plaza de Santa Anna, and the Catedral de Santa Ana was an excellent way to spend an afternoon. My wife and I only had a couple of hours to spend and probably were a little rushed. I would leave at least half a day to tour just this part of the city.

One of the nicest things is that the management staff is very visible and present throughout the stay. They can be seen walking around at all of events, including meals and are always checking to make sure you are comfortable and happy. They make you feel very welcome and you can tell their top concern is making sure you are enjoying your stay.

We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends. It is a great value and we hope to return someday.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor with an Ocean view. You will be able to leave the door open at night and hear...

My husband and I have recently returned from a week's break. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after and felt completely relaxed. On arrival we were given a very welcome glass of Cava which was just what we needed after a particularly bad coach transfer with Thomas Cook. We were swiftly shown to our room (no. 404). The room was immaculately clean and of a good size. We were a little disappointed with our view which was over the children's play area and the adjoining hotel's car park. When we return (and we certainly will) we will ask for a room overlooking the swimming pool - this view would be much nicer.

The hotel and grounds are beautifully kept and there are various activities scattered around if you're feeling energetic. There were always plenty of beds to go round when we were there at the end of March. There is a large pool and a smaller pool which we preferred as the temperature of the water was much warmer. There is a small pool which is located with the sauna, steam room and gym. Be prepared to see some naked bodies in this area as it is a mixed nudist area (adults only). The wellness spa is quite expensive so we didn't have any treatments, it did look very nice though.

For us, the best thing about the hotel was the food - it was superb. We eat out regularly and have been to many good hotels. This hotel definitely gets 5 stars for its food. There is everything you could possibly wish for. There are 4 a la carte evenings and three barbecue evenings. They cater for every possible taste, you definitely won't go hungry! The desserts are out of this world too.

There is a very nice area to sit and have drinks/snacks. The menu is quite limited, but again the food is excellent and I can recommend the homemade crepes and the waffles! The service here is quite slow, but when you're on holiday there is no hurry!

All the staff at the hotel work very hard to please their guests and always have a smile on their faces. I cannot thank them enough for making our holiday such a special one. Staff are constantly greeting guests and asking how they are and whether everything is okay. There was a general strike whilst we were there, we received a letter from the management briefing us about this and warning us that services may be disrupted. In the event, there was no problem at all and only a few of the hotel staff took strike action. We were woken about 8am with whistles and horns from outside the hotel though!

The area of Maspalomas and Melonares is very nice. There are plenty of nice walks, either along the beach or along the lovely promenade where there are lots of very expensive designer shops, restaurants and bars.

My husband played golf on the Maspalomas Course whilst we were away. Its quite expensive to play (approx. 90 euros). Be aware that you cannot play as a single player, but they are happy to put you with other players.

We were worried that the weather wouldn't be very good as many weather forecasts stated temperatures of 19/20 degrees with rain. Although you need a cardigan first thing in the morning and during the evening, the temperatures were around 23-26 degrees every day and we got a lovely tan!

Thank you Seaside Palm for a lovely relaxing holiday.
