Ambaji is awesome and the people are too religious. The Hotel Ambaji International is very good to stay with friends, family or couples. Overall its a very nice place and we went to Mt. Abu again a coolest hill station in India. Very religious places near by to stay and visit. Also not to miss Mt.Abu but its more costlier staying there as its almost 80.00 kms away from Ambaji. You have other near by places in Ambaji to visit which are kumbhariya, koteshwash, gabbar, and om garden.

Overall nice place, but over budget, other dharamshalas available more cheaper prices.
Definitely need to bargain in the off season.

Please be aware that this hotel is in no way INTERNATIONAL.
We arrived around 10.00pm and asked to look at the rooms and were not overly impressed but as it was late thought we would ask the price for 2 rooms.

Originally they quoted us 5,650 rupees which is way overpriced. After some haggling and staff phoning the manager we agreed a price of 4,500 Rupees including breakfast still to much but we were all tired after the long journey.

Did manage to have a bit of sleep but did feel uncomfortable as bed sheets did not look that clean!!

In the morning requested our breakfast and was told it would be served in the room so waited about half an hour to each be presented with a cup of Chai and 1 slice of buttered toast each.

On checking out they requested we pay 5,200 rupees as the breakfast was not included. So basically they are liars and rip off merchants as we asked 3 times when booking in that the price included breakfast and 3 times they confirmed it did. After begrudgingly paying the 5,200 Rupees I asked for a receipt and was given a scrap of paper with the price on. I said that I would like an official receipt on headed paper to which I was told that they would add taxes and I would need to pay another 600 rupees. So not only do they rip of the customers but also the Indian authorities.

Please also read Vikas_Mishra review of the hotel as this is exactly what you will find.

Room tip: Don't book one!!

Overall a decent hotel. Considering that this is a pilgrim place and a tourist place, one obviously can't expect hotels with many facilities - in places like this most people use hotels just for one night and this hotel is OK for just that.

We did not eat at their restaurant so can't comment on food. The room was good - atleast the AC and TV were working.

Best part was that when we visited the hotel was almost empty (infact some kind of construction work was going in some rooms, so I assume the hotel had just opened) so our driver got to use one of the rooms free of charge.

As said earlier, given that this is not a tourist place - I think the hotel is fulfills the requirements.

I was under the impression that is the best hotel in Ambaji. Well, if this the best then God save tourists from other hotels in Ambaji. Well, it seems that Ambaji is a very small town and caters only to religious tourists and that might be the reason for dearth of good hotels.
Well, if you are staying at Ambaji International then be prepared for the following:

Small and dingy rooms.
No WIFI.
Smelly staircase
inefficient, dirty and stinky bell boys and room service boys.

They have a restaurant which serves only Gujarati thali. Breakfast or any other food is not available in the hotel.

Room service is available for tea, coffee and bread butter toast.

despite all these shortcomings, this is the best choice one has in Ambaji!!!

Room tip: Do not know.
