Misty Valley Resort is situated in Aanamada estate. It is roughly 2 hours from Nelliyampathy town. The resort is not far from Nelliyampathy, but the rough and bumpy road stretches the travel. You cannot travel with your personal vehicle unless you have an all-wheel drive. Jeeps are available from Nelliyampathy town which will cost you Rs 3000/- for a round trip. On the way to the resort, there are two view points which are simply mind-blowing.

I feel that the resort was an old estate house which was modified for commercial purpose. The resort is situated right in the middle of the forest. The resort has all the basic facilities for food and stay. Do NOT expect any mobile range or electricity :)... They run generator from evening to midnight. That's the only time when electricity will be available. There was no fan in the room that I stayed. I feel that its not needed and the climate was fine even in the peak summer season.

There was an option for night safari at the resort. But we didn't opt for that. The resort also arranges for camp fire (charged separately). It would be good if you could carry any card or board games with you. The food options in the resort is limited. But they do serve tasty authentic dishes. I feel that the food rates are a bit on the higher side. The cost to obtain provisions from the valley is the reason cited for that.

Overall, its a great place for nature lovers and explorers. The place is suitable for families travelling as groups and for guys. But the travel from Nelliyampathy to Anamada is advisable only for healthy ladies. Do explore it !!!!

Room tip: Not much options to choose from :)

After a 2hr trip up the mountain Misty Valley is a further 1.5hrs up an extremely rough and bumpy track. Not for the faint hearted. The actual accomodation is pretty basic with limited electricity use, limited phone signal and no running hot water (although we were offered a bucket on our last day) however the location is truly stunning. Vishnu took good care of us during our 3 day stay and the cook made the most delicious dishes. The night safari wasn't anything special as we'd already spotted the same animals during the day. However in the late afternoons whilst sitting outside our hut we were able to see such a variety of wildlife like monkeys swinging through the trees, squirrels and the most beautiful colourful birds it was really amazing. Vishnu took us out on several walks to some viewpoints where the scenery was truly stunning. However there was no proper wildlife guide and communication was a little difficult at times. We also found it a little frustrating not to be able to go on walks alone as we were told it was unsafe. But the beauty of the place and wildlife all around us more than made up for this.

Located deep inside the mammoth “Anamada estate” and surrounded by Nelliyampathi reserve forest this is an amazing place featuring tranquility, peace (No Signal in mobile phones) .This resort will provide you a heavenly feel if you are really a wildlife lover. The jeep ride to reach this place from “Puliyampara” is rough as well as tough and the viewpoints en route is breathtakingly beautiful.

Property : Mr.Mohdsalim , Mr.Jaianand30 & Mr. jilucorreya have already given you a detailed description regarding the property and its features and hence I am not reiterating more here.

Misty Valley will provide you a close living experience with the nature in a typical forest ambiance and to utilize this ambiance and feel it abundantly , it is highly recommend to keep a calm and quite lifestyle. Stay there minimum for one full day and make a night safari and trekking to nearby “Varayattumala” during the early morning hours if possible. Discuss with the resort management and they will provide with necessary assistance to facilitate the same. Nearly 2 hours walk is required to reach Varayattumala and a chance to spot wildlife throughout the way is very high and hence it is strongly recommended to avoid accompanying aged persons and children.

Food : Limited menu but very tasty, homely & fresh Kerala food. Rate is normal

Room : Spacious, Neat but DG Power supply only during 5.00 PM – 12.00 AM. Rate is very much reasonable.

Service : Mr.Subair and Mr.Vishnu is very much helpful and always ready to assist you.

Sleep Quality : Nothing more to say.. you will get a sound sleep here.

The resort is around 13 kms away from Nelliampathy Town. Need to hire 4 wheel drive Jeep to reach Misty Valley, the 13 kms journey itself an experience - literally no road, it will take around 2 hrs to cover 13 kms. On the way - there are couple of wonderful viewpoints. If you are lucky enough, you will spot wild elephants, biasons, deers, horn-bills, wild squirrel, etc.

On reaching resort, you will feel you are inside Jungle, its a coffee/cardamom/orange estate. Limited power supply and mobile reach, good climate!

You can expect great hospitality and tasty homely food!

Room tip: Rooms are clean and good

You need to hire a jeep from Puliyampara and go off-road about 2 hours. After experiencing an adventurous roller coaster like ride, you will witness this beautiful little resort. On the way you will be stopped to view some breath taking view points. There is no power supply at this place, they will switch on the gen-set between 6 PM to 12 AM. Hot water will be provided for bathing. There is camp fire facility and food is good considering the location where you are. There is a common dining hut for the visitors. The "Karadee bungalow" just 200 meters away from this resort is not used nowadays. They also offer a night safari for about 45 mins in to the dense jungle where you can see Bison, Elephants, Bear, Deer etc

Note: There are lot of leeches here, to escape form those or to kill those when bitten, just put some salt on it, it will die immediately. Salt is must when you go trekking inside the forest. Don't forget. And this place is good for family as well as friends.

Room tip: All the rooms have the same standard and they are all very spacious
