A beautiful picturesque Waterfall away from city noise and mostly tourists free around December. The directions from yellapur is pretty straight forward and decent road access.

Good during monsoon, otherwise not so interesting. Its a bit crowded place as well. It can one of those attractions which you can visit just for the sake completing tourist destinations around Sirsi-Yellapura circuit.

Travel to Yellapura from Bangalore by an overnight Bus and one can visit both Yellapura and Magod Falls in one day. Magod falls is a scenic beauty, which asks for a small walk to the peak of the mountain from where this falls can be enjoyed.

N facilities are available near the falls. Carry lot of water especially if you are visiting the falls in summer or post monsoon as this small walk sometimes could be tiering.

There are few other interesting places around Magod falls- namely Jenukal Gudda, an amazing Sunrise point. You need to be there well before sunrise to enjoy the clouds moving down your feet and forming some very photogenic patterns. Jenukal gudda is an excellent valley that offer some very good photography opportunities. But remember you need to be there well before sunrise.

Other interesting place is the "Ghante Ganesha", a Ganesha temple with hundreds of bells in it. During the pooja devotees start ringing all the bells and its an altogether different experience.

One more place of interest could be Sonde, which is around 35 KM from Magod. A Mutt is dedicated here to Vadiraja Swamy. A nice place to sit and relax.

Food options are very limited in Yellapura and one needs to be contented with the available quality of food here.

Hubli is around 70KM from Yellapura and road is very good. One can also plan their return to Bangalore via Hubli- though it is a round about.

We visited the fall in month of rainy days it is situated 16/17 km away from yellapur a good motarable road is present a hill ridge runs parallel to to stream and a good view of fall is visiable from difrent angles The word mugod sounds me as "mujor"(the meaning of the word is arrogant,i.e. "one will not listen any one who so ever comes in the way" full of mist and roaring sound
