Firstly, the location is just fantastic. The Railway stn is just a 15 mins and the bus stand just 10 mins from the tourist lodge. Toto, Rickshaws and autos are available. Rashmancha, Dalmadal, Chhinnamastika temple, Jormandir, Nandalal temple, Kalachand temple, Radha Govind Temple, Radhamadhav Temple, the state archeological museum and lalbandh are just walking distance. You have to take transport for other attractions of Bishnupur. Hired car for local sightseeing is available at the tourist lodge. Guides for Bishnupur temples are also available at the tourist lodge.
As per rooms are concerned, they are large, clean and comfortable with modern ammenities. Beds will offer comfortable sleep. The bathroom is clean and compact. Bedsheets and towels provided are clean.
Food of the restuarant is brilliant, specially bengali veg dishes. Service very good. Behavior of staffs excellent.
The best tourist lodge of WBTDC..

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

We went in a group of 5 couples each with a baby. So a total of 15. Stayed there for 2 nights in February 18. We booked consecutive 5 A.C. rooms at the garden floor overseeing the beautiful garden.
The long corridor literally belonged to us and we were quite a noisy bunch with loads of requests (mostly as we had kids). The staff were really helpful and cordial.
Rooms were big and clean. So were the bathrooms.
Almost all places to visit and the market areas are very close by. A Toto's distance. It is recommended from my end.

Bishnupur Tourist Lodge is undoubtedly the safest and cleanest hotel in the region. Operated by the government, they have both AC and Non AC rooms available and also in house dining facilities. We had stayed there during the new year and booked last moment so only a Non Ac room was available but as it was winters, it worked well for us and in budget. Rooms are very spacious with dressing areas and bathrooms. Tv, geysers and other basic amenities are available. Breakfast is complementary with two options. Food is good and staff is courteous. Food looks a bit over priced for the region but that is the best option available. Taxi and Toto are available from the hotel for day trips and sight seeing. Located at a walking distance from Rasamancha, they have a huge lawn in the premises.

A good place to stay with very helpful and accommodating Staff, both at the Front Desk and the Restaurant. Even the Chef was quite happy to customize dishes for Guests. The Front Desk Manager was knowledgeable and quite happy to go out of his way to help.

Bishnupur tourist Lodge which is ran by West Bengal tourism provides a basic, clean and most likely the best (as of 2018) accommodation available at Bishnupur. As like any Indian state government ran accommodations, the tourist lodge is on a spacious compound and provides for ample car parking space within it's compound wall. Located right at middle of Bishnupur town and very near (walk-able) to most of the temples - which are the prime attraction for tourist to Bishnupu. We stayed in a Double Bed AC Deluxe room which is decent in size and clean but unfortunately in the ground floor. Seems most of the AC rooms are in the ground floor though it is not a big spoiler as there is not much to get a view of from the hotel rooms.

The restaurant of the tourist lodge is again probably the best place to have food in Bishnupur and they have a separate bar too. For breakfast you can have either bread with egg (omelette/boiled) or puri/sabji. For lunch the food is mostly cooked in Bengali style with option of couple of veg dishes (including one made from posto aka poppy seed), dal (lentil stew), crispy potato wedges, a special posto vada (deep fried poppy seed) and a choice of egg/fish/chicken/mutton curry. Dinner comes with a choice of rice/chapati (Indian flat bread), veg, non-veg curry and also with choice of some basic Indian-Chinese dishes like that of Fried rice and Chilly Chicken. There are provisions for evening snacks with tea which you have to order separately. All the foods are cooked quite well and service is fast. You can have your morning tea or any of the foods at the dining hall or can get it served in your room.

Overall the staff is very courteous and service is good and fast. If you traveled to Bishnupur by train or bus and would like the hotel to arrange a vehicle for you to go around, the guy at the reception can do that easily.

If you are visiting Bishnupur, I would recommend Bishnupur tourist Lodge. If you are able to get a choice of rooms, try to avoid rooms 6,7 & 8 as they are near to the dining hall/kitchen and can get a bit noisy.

Any payments at the hotel for food/accommodation can be made through cards.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 6,7 & 8 as they are near to the dining hall/kitchen and can get a bit noisy.
