We had booked a room at Shree Ganesh Beach Resort for the long weekend of 27th Jan 2012 and drove down from Pune. Booking was confirmed on the phone and we paid cash upon reaching there.
The rooms at Shree Ganesh Beach Resort are very well appointed. The room contained a double bed, a split AC, a 24" LCD with a DTH connection and a mini bar. The bathroom was clean with a western style toilet and a shower with a gas geyser attached. The upholstery and sheets were clean (looked like new).
The resort is located on a road that leads up to the beach. The road is pretty secluded itself. A walk of about 200 ft will take you to a narrow opening for the beach - you can see the Exotica MTDC resort and a small place called Patil's resort on the way. The beach at diveagar is bordered by thick shrubbery and tall trees. I did not see any resort there which had direct/private access to the beach.
The layout of the resort seemed pretty cramped with the villas pretty much stuck to each other. At the center of the resort (surrounded by the villas) is a small lawn area which has hammocks, swings and a place for camp fire. In the evening, music was played here with lasers dancing.
The food was tasty - with Punjabi, Chinese and sea-food on offer. Being vegetarians, we tried Punjabi and Chinese only. The cost of food is higher than average - Punjabi vegetables around Rs 180 and Rotis around Rs 25, but the quantity is huge. Service was quite prompt.
The restaurant and front office is on the first floor which covers the car parking area. Covered parking is available for about 7 SUVs, with smaller cars being double-parked.
All-in-all I can recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, clean resort at Diveagar. I had paid Rs 2000 per day (included only room rent) in Jan 2012.
